I was talking with some friends of mine this week about our cycles. None of us knew how it really works. I think I need my 7th grade health class again!
When do we ovulate? Then the egg passes through the tube and attaches to the uterine wall, right? Then how many days before our period does the egg leave? I can't believe I don't remember all this!
Why do you want to know???? LOL
I was told it was midcyle, usually 10-15 days after your last period depending on how long your cycle is. If you are having regular periods, it is likely that you are ovulating. Most women ovulate about 14 days before they get their next period. Counting day one of your period as day 1 of your cycle, if you have a 26 day cycle, you are probably ovulating at day 12. If you have a 30 day cycle, you are probably ovulating at day 16. And remember, sperm can hang around a bit, and the egg remains "fertilizable" for a day, so you want to time intercourse every day or every other day around ovulation time, giving yourself a little "window" on each side.

The egg is only "fertilizable" for a day? Wow! We were thinking something like a week.
