Tom Green was on The View this morning with 2 of his 5 wives. I feel for the kids in all this with him looking at 25 years in prison, but this still comes off as creepy to me.
He says in there faith the men get to have as many wives as they want, but that the women get to choose who they want to marry and they decide when to have sex, yada, yada, yada. He married these women when they were 13, 14, 15 years old. He also was married to a mother and her daughter. That disturbed me and Star Jones.
The age thing is what bothers me. He tried to justify it by saying that biology dictates when a girl can marry not legislature. My question is why didn't his "biology" kick in when he was 13 or 14 and he marry another 13 or 14 year old girl? Why at 30+ does he decide to marry these young girls. What does a 13 or 14 year old even know about choosing who to marry? I think he just wanted them young and naive so that he could brainwash them into believing what he wants them to believe.
I have some Mormon friends. One husband, one wife, six kids, very committed family unit. The Greens wanted us to believe they were a big happy family, and perhaps they are, but could he have that same set up by marrying women in their early 20's. I think not.
Creepy, creepy, creepy. I have to say if you're going to marry sisters, and mothers and their daughters, what is to keep you from wanting to marry your own daughter.
