View Full Version : Daily Exercise
How long do you work out?
How many days a week?
What do you do?
I started trying get 30 minutes in on the eliptical as many days a week as I can......I am so out of shape....
I am trying hard to make a routine out of this...but I do the treadmill 20-30 minutes a day. I vary between walking, hills and jogging. I am struggling to get motivated every day, but I know that time will come when I NEED to exercise or I won't feel good. Eventually I will add weight training.

I've been doing the treadmill every day for about 40 minutes. (which amounts to a little over 2 miles) I'd LIKE to get back to doing 4 miles like I use to, but I'm not quite that motivated yet. (Maybe when it gets nicer outside... :) ) I also do other exercises, which would probably total about an hour's worth of exercise. If I find I don't have the time, I try to do at least the treadmill and skip some of the other, but not all of it. :( Since I've started watching what I eat and exercising again, I find I have a lot more energy and feel so much better. I didn't think I had gained that much weight back though... I HATE dieting and having to loose it all again. Teach me... :( :(
I am so out of shape and have NO time to exersise. I feel like its my duty to keep my heart pumping so the elpitical is my medicine (chore)
DH on the other hand LOVES his riding. He used to run, but with the bad knees and varicous viens, it really isn't a positive for him.

You've got to find an exercise that you can at least halfway enjoy doing. If not, it becomes a chore and nine times out of ten it's not something you'll stick with very long. I don't LOVE my treadmill... but it's definitely something I can live with. It's a lot easier than a lot of other exercises out there. :(
Dh works out three nights out of the week. He does about 30 minutes on the treadmill, :walkin: lifts weights and also uses the Soloflex. He's looking very good, which gives me the incentive to want to get into shape too.

It's hard to find the time for me when I work because of the weather and I don't have any equipment in my home. I really like to go for walks, but when it's dark outside when you go to work and when you come home it's hard. Also, it rains here all winter. The weather is much nicer lately and it stays light later.

LOL... dh LOVES his Soloflex! I don't think I could get him to trade it in for anything. LOL That and it doesn't take up too much space. I'd like to add a few more pieces to our exercise room... but it's all so expensive, but yet cheaper than joining a gym to use the same thing I could use in my own home. I thought about joining Anytime Fitness... but I think it's much more convenient just to walk down the stairs and use it than to have to drive somewhere... which I don't think I'd do. It really is hard when you don't have the time though. I know even with not working I sometimes have a hard time fitting it into my day. I won't do it while Sarah's here... plus with all the appointments I've been taking my mom on, it's hard to squeeze in.
