Renee, how sweet of you. :)

Things are puttering along okay, I suppose.
Sd is getting stronger and has been released from the rehab portion of the nursing home - good news, but it means he's bored. :)
With the insurance policy change, he'll be there anothe 30 or 45 days, I think.

Mom is really scatterbrained. It frightens me at times how 'out of it' she can be.
She is leaving next week for a 2 week stay at 'home' (Brentwood, TN). She'll be there for her 80th b'day, my brother's 50th b'day and leaves on my oldest brother's birthday... oh, as well as Easter.
My ss had the idea of everyone going in and buying her the plane ticket, so we did. It'll do her good to have a complete change of scenery.

that was nice of your step sister to organize that! it shows she realizes how much your mom needs to recharge!

Exactly...I'm glad your mom is getting a well deserved break, Jen.

I agree... that was very nice of your ss to think about that. I'm sure your mom will have a great time! She definitely deserves the break!!!

Yes, nice of her to think of the idea. But the devil in me doesn't put it past them to do this to get her out of the picture for a bit....
One ss said to me last week, "maybe this will give her a different perspective". WTH?? I just smiled and walked off.

I hope mom has a nice time. My sister who lives there has sort of the same relationship with mom as Amy has said she does with hers. Mom isn't trying to dig into her life, but she is SO private, any question mom asks, she gets real defensive.
Add that to the royal b*itch my oldest sister is and I swear, our family is in the dictionary under the word dysfunctional.
