Where is everyone? Oh yeah, where all sane people are at this hour -- asleep!
Just got back from taking mom to the airport, she's nervous about traveling esp. alone and sad to leave sd, but looking forward to "being away" from here.
She's probably in her seat and getting ready to take off now any minute. If you have time to say a short prayer for safe travels, I'd be grateful. :tinysmile
Gotta get my family moving, looks like no one set an alarm clock last night, get ready for work then dh has a church meeting and lenten service and dd has her first girl's golf get together tonight.
That's our day. I'm seeing a nice nap this afternoon or at least a very early bedtime tonight.
Hope your mom has a great time, Jen!!!!
I swear hosting and cooking for 100 at the party for my dad was less work than her royal highness' 13th birthday party!!! she wants to be the diva and not help do anything, but yet, wants everything done her way..uh..get a life babe!
dad's wife is loaning me more stuff so i am going over there to get it, gotta go to the grocery store, need to clean Bob's tank. i keep thinking there is something else i have to do, but i am drawing a blank!

music..dd wants to use the all music station on tv. LOL (no videos just music)
it think it's to remember to pick up my jeans at the tailor, but i am worried it has something to do with my house job.
there were 24 invited and i think 20 are coming, but i have only heard from 2. cause 'mom, no one does that RSVP thing, sheesh!'
did i mention how much i hate this age?! LOL
house is going to look great though!
at the curb will be two tiki torches
at the front door is a lighted palm tree.
there will be a rafia curtain hanging over the entryway to the den. lots of buckets of silk flowers all around. going to have the doors to the patio open, lights and laterns on the patio. tables and tiki torches out in the yard. a 6 ft inflatable limbo! LOL
in the dining room, the princess has decided on the menu. on the dining room table will be sweet and sour meatballs, chicken nuggest, chips and queso, ham and swiss rollup ups with pineapple cream cheese, a veggie tray, blueberry mini muffins and extra cheesy goldfish.
On the buffet with be a chocolate fountain with fruit, marshmellows, and pound cake. There will also be a 'pina colada' dip too.
Oh, Ann...your dd's party sounds FUN!!!
Jen, I hope your mom enjoys her trip.
Working. I need to think of how I'm going to dress the flamingo for Easter...want to get that done by end of tomorrow...without getting caught, lol.
Survivor tonight and will pop up to see Dad too. I saw him briefly on Monday and I walked home from there...what a nice walk that was.
Good lord woman! That is some shindig you are putting on!! Do you have activities planned or they just hanging out and eating?
I think I am going to work out this a.m. and then head to Old Navy and take a look at their summer shorts. Since I worked all last summer and dh's business was in full-swing, I never bought one summer thing. This year I want a head start. LOL

I have a report to finish this moring and that dreaded Monthly meeting tomorrow.. :nervous: I am getting better at it though, even practice what I am going to say in the car on my way to work (when I am alone)

Those are what ds is wearing also, so he doesn't get any coloured elastics...since there is no need for them.

Did we miss your birthday? Happy belated birthday!

Different huh? Does he have any pain? They say it cuts down on the length of time you have to wear them and are the least painful..so they say.
So far so good, he is still getting used to his lips and the braces mixing

I like that there's less hardware in his mouth, lol. I think it does cut down on the pain as he had an adjustment last Wed. and didn't need to take any pain reliever.
YEAH...less hardware, less wearing time, and less pain...YIPPEE...ds has asked for some Motrin this morning, but I would think since he just got them yesterday he needs to get used to this stuff in his mouth...He looks so grown up though....
Bev how long has he had them on...

Ds took some pain relievers the first/2nd day he got his put on as well, but has had minimal pain since. Every time he gets an adjustment there's a place in his mouth that he needs to adjust to (no pun intended, lol). He's had his on since the beginning of September and still has a year to go.

I use to practice like that when I knew I'd have to get up and speak in front of all the other day care provider's during our monthly meetings. I'd feel like a total wreck just before I'd get up there, then calm as soon as I started, and would do fine. :)
getting a little anxious about the weather. early in the week it was supposed to rain today or tomorrow and have an absolutely gorgeous weekend. now it's being moved to maybe saturday am for rain...pray that it doesn't rain on Saturday or if it does VERY early in the am!!!!
look what came to my front door this am..dogs flipped out! i couldn't get a good pic through my door,
this is across the street.

Dh's networking meeting this morning, so we were up brite and early. :( I didn't get to bed until late so it was pretty hard climbing out of bed this morning. Got the bed made right away, laundry's finally done, got the floor's all scrubbed and cleaned... and I even got my walk in already. My mom's got a therapy appointment at 10:15. I'm going to drop her off and go back to her house to clean while she's gone. She's got a dr.'s appointment at 2:15, so will need to pick her up later for that too. If I don't finish cleaning her house while she's at therapy I'll go back and finish it up then. Busy day...
Dawn's 30th birthday today. I can't believe I have a daughter that old already. Time sure does fly... LOL
Hope you all have a great day today!

Oh Ann the party sounds fabulous!!! I wanna come too! The food sounds great and just perfect for munching and chilling out. I hope she has a great time. Has ds been banished from the house?
Very cool pea****!
Busy, busy busy, that's how my life is right now. Only an hour left until I need to get to bed.

oh good lord no..she would LOVE it if he came to her party. She adores him and loves to show him off. (the feeling isn't reciprocated at all!). In fact she want him and some of his friends to stand around shirtless for atmosphere! LOL

when i went to take the pic, it had cross the street to my neighbor's house. i am standing in my front yard taking the pic.

OMG!!!! I'M ROFLMAO!!!!!!! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!
Now, if he were the younger brother with older girls around, I bet he'd be all over it! (but then, if he were younger, she wouldn't want him there.... what a rock 'n a hard place)
So, what will he do? Will he indulge the diva or be the elusive, possibly shirtless, brother who hangs out behind his closed door? ;) LOL

that's what just kills me..BOTH my younger brother and I wished we had a big brother! ;) and ds just sucks at it! I truly think it's just his personality. he would have made a great only or younger child. DD would have made a GREAT big sister!
i told him just yesterday cause i have noticed he is being a little more pleasant to her, how much i appreciated it cause she just adores him. and his reply was 'well of course, i am very adorable'!

and that will happen. LOL :) Then watch and see how ds reacts having his friends showing an interest in his little sister. (he may actually become very protective of her)

Oh yeah...I love(d) having an older brother. He wasn't the most brotherly type when I was younger (he wished he'd had a brother himself since he was the only boy of 6 kids), but when I was in my mid-teens he and I became closer and hung out more...I certainly loved hanging out with his friends and had a few crushes myself.

Are you still close? I remember one summer when he and his girl friend broke up and I had just had my heart broken, We spent the entire summer with his friends and my girlfriends just haning out and those are great memories...we are still really close....but now he calls me his Big sister since I'm protective of him...

Unfortunately no. He's in a marriage that should have stayed "child-less". Don't get me wrong, I love my nephews, but my brother and his wife are bad parents (who constantly yell) and it's not an environment I like to put myself in, lol. When it was just my brother, his wife and her ds from her first marriage, they were fine...now add another son born between them (13 years after her first was born) with severe ADHD and another son born from an affair SIL had and you get a pretty dysfunctional family.
I really wish they were closer in age just so he could see how his friends react to her! LOL
It will be interesting when his friends come home from college that first Christmas and she is a freshman in high school! ;)
