The thread regarding independence got me to thinking,
Do you all have life insurance?
does your dh?

Absolutely! we bought it when we first married. and have also had additional policies throughout the years from employers. right now we have our original policy and one with dh's company.
i have always maintained that dh is under insured, but he says he doesn't want me to live better with him dead than i did when he was alive! LOL
he upped my insurance when ds was born.

Yup. Dh and I both have life insurance through our employers should anything happen to us while we're working there. We also have separate life insurance in case either of us are no longer employed. I am insured for a whack of insurance through work...when I first started at the university I took the 3x my annual salary package :rolleyes: .

We both have ins. Not quite in equal amounts, but since the kids are still young we carry more on my life now than we will when they've all left the nest. :)

Dh has one, but not me. He knows he could survive fine (financially that is.. LOL) without me, but I would need the help if he were to go first.

Most definitely! Through work and also policies we took out when we got married. Again, a little more on dh than on me. We have policies on the boys we took out when they were born for pennies practically. We continue to keep ds#1's up even though he's nearly 27.

My dad use to say that all the time. Funny thing is when he passed away he hardly did have anything. If it weren't for my mom being able to sell her house at a big profit, she would have had a hard time making it.

We both have policies. Dh is covered more than me, but there is coverage for me as well. Even though I don't work and we don't depend on any income from me he would be able to use the $$ to put dd in daycare. :(
