What did your dk's give 'dad' for fathers day.

I gave each of my dk's $20 and took them to the mall and let them pick out their own gift for dh.
ds bought a bunch of different golf accesories. (tees, balls with looney tune pictures on them, club cover that looks like a frog etc.)
dd had trouble finding what she wanted but ended up purchasing two white t-shirts and some fabric paint and painted shirts for both herself and dh. On dh's she wrote 'World Greatest Dad" and on hers " Daughter of the World's Greatest Dad". and then decorated them both with different little cartoon figures. They turned out cute. They both wore them on Sunday.

In school dd class made Key Chains using "shrink art" sheets.
ds made a special booklet about why dad is special
and a card with his handprints inside with a poem.
(Not the typical handprint poem I have seen so often)
It said.......

My Daddy

"My Daddy" are two special word,
For only us to share.
It tells the whole world that your mine,
And shows how much I care.

I love it when you hold me close,
Secure in your strong arm.
I know you'll awalys protect me,
And keep me safe from harm.

'Cause that's what Daddies are all about,
They keep an eye on you.
With patience that just never ends,
In all the things they do.

I'm pround to have you as my 'Dad'.
The best in all the land.
My gift to you is all the love,
I hold in my small hand.

Just thought you might enjoy it. dh took it with him and is getting it framed to hang in his office.

Great poem Ryleigh! I was a lazy slob this year and didn't get Brichard anything from me or the kids this year. I highly commend you!!

Since I dh isn't my dad, I don't give him anything. :)
My kids did the homemade route this year. They did the foot print idea that was posted here.
I gave my dad 5 dozen finger sandwiches (his favorite thing in the whole world!)

LOL AnnW! I don't give dh anything either...from me...because he isn't my dad! (Same holds true on Mother's Day....I'm not his mom. He just makes sure that the kids acknowledge the day!) That doesn't mean that I don't value his role as father of our children. My kids drew pictures and added notes which we framed ( they were sooo cute!) Then we found pics (doubles/extras) of dh with the kids...or our whole family, and we collaged them into an inexpensive 11x14 frame. Added stickers, words ("best dad", etc) and voila!. It turned out really cute. We were joking that dh would have a hard time filling a frame with pics of me with dk's....I'm the one who is always taking the pics!!! I'm not in many pictures.
