I was just talking with a friend and she told me she belongs to a lot of internet boards and spends a good part of her day in and out of these boards. I was incredulous because this is the only board I have time for. LOL Once in awhile I will look at the Sparks board for weightloss motivation, but no urge to actually post.
Do any of y'all post at other boards? Are they special interest ones, or friendship ones like this one?
Todays Parent and Chatelaine are the only other boards I frequent and/or post on. I've met some great people/friends/moms through Todays Parent.

there are several i just lurk at. some for just info and some i am not really sure why i still lurk. LOL
i actively post at another board, it's more of a broader based group of people.
to those who post at other boards, do you confide more in them or just here? do you seek opinions at more than one place? what happens if they differ or worse, differ with what you are saying? LOL
i confide about the same in the other board, sometimes the same info, sometimes different stuff.
i think there are things that are just IB and other stuff is just at that board.
i have had times where they two boards disagree on advice or my perception on something. i hate it and like it cause it helps me see things from all sides and not just mine.
The Todays Parent and Chatelaine boards I just post random stuff. Nothing really personal. Some people do post way-out-there stuff and difference of opinions that can go on there, make the difference of opinions here seem small, lol. However, when a thread gets out of hand there, it gets deleted very quickly by the moderators. There are way more frequent/daily posters at those boards than our small community here.

Nope, just this one for me.
I visit and post at one other board. Sometimes I post the same stuff, sometimes different stuff. I post here more, though. :)
I mostly lurk and rarely post on a few other boards. One is military, so I only post when I can help someone out. It was great for me when I was looking for info before we moved. I do not post on those boards like I post here. My friends are here. LOL

I asked the question in the first place because I would imagine it eats up a lot of time she could be out doing something productive. LOL I was just wondering if I was the only one who doesn't have that kind of time or patience to be actively involved in other boards.

I go to one other, and that's not even very often... I visit it two or three... maybe four times a month. :)

I had an aquaintance where we used to live that was constantly going on trips to meet up with message board friends. It seemed odd to me, not that I wouldn't meet up with any of you if we were nearby, but it's almost like she didn't make close "real" friends because of the time she spent online.

Not on a regular basis. I have posted at a Disney site prior to going to FL - that's about it. Don't have time for anything else, especially now that Pam got me addicted to some online game. :grimace: :goofy:
Anyone have any 'small world' moments and come across someone they know at another site? There's a site I used to go to for ideas for the newsletter I did and they have a msg board as well - I would lurk occasionally and was shocked to find out I actually knew a couple of people who posted there!

I was going to start a separate thread about how much I loathe you for putting that site on the board. LOL I think I spent 2 hours on Thursday playing that stupid game. There was something oddly gratifying having a lot of bubbles popping.:rolleyes:

I have 2 other boards that I go to. One is a parenting board for people that had children born in Oct. I know ds wasn't born in Oct, but I have been with these ppl since he was due in Oct, and I didn't feel like changing groups, so I stuck with them. I rarely post there, but I do lurk.
I also have one other board that I post at frequently, and Ann said it best about how I post.

I wasn't visiting anywhere for a long time--just checking my local yahoo home schooling lists. Then, when I got pregnant, I came back here and I also visited two pregnancy boards (sporadically) that came up when I did a search for a pregnancy-related question. I didn't post much on either board, though--the layouts of both are awful. And I didn't feel a connection to anyone on either board (then again, there was quite a turnover on one of the boards).
I only check in here now.

ROFL!! So glad I am not alone!! I am so proud of myself - I haven't been on there at all today!! :yippee: (Not to say I won't sneak over in a bit. :grimace: )

I post on one other messageboard dedicated to Britney Spears, but that's really about it besides this one. And I think the reason for my sticking around here so much is b/c since I do work with young children it's nice to read people's varying opinions about how they are raising their children or husband issues. It's nice to be at a messageboard where the people truly are adults, b/c I'm around so many people that are younger than me in my daily life.
I may disappear from this board for a minute but I keep coming back b/c of the interesting stories that I read when I'm here.
