The house is mostly clean. Just a few things to do. Need to do homework (I've been slacking) and head out to the grocery store. Should be a busy day.

Good morning... I am up early and working. People call in b/c they didn't get their paper, so it has been pretty busy. That is good b/c it means more money. :yippee: I work until 11:30, and then I have a 30 minute break and work again until 3:00. Other than that, I don't have much planned for today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Morning, getting the last of the laundry done. Having a cup of Coffee, ds and dh are still snoozing  dd is getting ready to hit the shower. Me next ;)

I was out in the garage and a big water bug scared the daylights of me :nervous: those things are gross. I thought it was an overgrown ****roach...never saw one before. EWWWHHH.

looking forward to a beautiful day weather wise, they are predicting 82 degrees.
I've got the sunscreen, camera and a duffle bag with water and hats packed so we are ready for the  Angels game.

Have a wonderful Sunday all!

Glad you got back to sleep, Ann (going to check out your post about your party).
Renee, I saw a couple of those things in San Diego! Blech!

Ugh. Sleepover Wii party was changed to Friday night and I'm STILL recovering! LOL!

Ds LOVES the Wii! He was so excited! (Now to come up with an earning system for time on it!)

The party was too much--seven boys. It was ok over all, but one kid in particular did several things that made me very unhappy. He went out the upstairs window onto the roof. (Took out my screens from my brand new windows to do it.) Then he encouraged ds to go out the window and when ds (foolishly) did, he locked him out. Then he kept pushing the buttons of a few of the kids repeatedly, got physically rough with a few, and I found out the next day that he was swearing whenever they were outside and I was out of earshot. THEN he announces that there's no Santa (there were three kids who were really upset by the news--one was younger, one has Asperger's and just still believed, and the other is older, but his family is very into Christmas and believing). He didn't just announce it, he spent a half hour on the trampoline trying to convince everyone that there's no Santa (ds kept telling him to stop it and finally came to tell me, but the damage had been done). So I had three upset kids and three moms who were upset, too (but nice about it, saying it wasn't my fault as I apologized profusely to them).

I had the baby monitor on and heard them wake up at 4:30 a.m. Down I went to tell them to get back to sleep. The baby kept waking and crying. I told dh, "Please remind me of this next time!" and he said, "I always do!" LOL! (And he does.) But I really don't plan to ever do this again--we've had three and that's enough. Ds agreed. He can have one boy spend the night whenever, but no more overnight parties.

You are waaay nicer than I would be, Mickey!! 8o I'd have called his mom to pick him up. I can't believe a child would think he could take the screen out of the window and climb onto the roof of a house that is not his own!!!

Where are the parents who teach their children responsibility and respect for other people's property, feelings, etc? With this boy and the twins that showed up for Amy's ds's party... it makes you wonder!

I have had the chance to lurk a couple of times but had ds4 in my arm and couldn't type. Now I feel so behind on what's going on here because that was during the week. lol So, I hope the birthday parties went well, sounds like a couple kids showed up that you wished didn't. Ann, congrats to ds for winning. Need to go and find Sat. thread to find out what it was. :)
We are going back and forth with the colic. Today was pretty good, he slept pretty good today for naps which he stopped doing for a few days but at least the nights he sleeps okay. He is playing happily and grinning more often. Working on trying to get stuff done in the house and it seems impossible some days (like yesterday). Have a teen coming starting tomorrow to clean. Going to have her start at the front door and begin washing walls and baseboards. I can't wait to see them clean!
Hope all is well and I'm being paged. I miss getting to post. :bawling: (and I saw the 'other board' thread. Just here for me too. It's not only a time thing, I just don't have any desire or energy to try and get to know an entire board of people I know nothing about and then try to keep everyone straight in my head! lol
Have a good night all :)

I admit I have skimmed most of the rest of yesterday's thread and today's.
Ann, congrats to your ds on his winnings.
Amy, glad ds had a good party.

I am wiped. I did yard work all day yesterday. When dh got home, we picked up ds from work then went to get dinner and then ds bought himself an ipod. Early to bed last night. Tired today. Ds worked again, and dh played ball. We did groceries and I visited with the neighbour late this aft. Visited my dad, now we're watching the last episode of Amazing Race.

Sista...I don't know whether I was awake or sleeping when I saw ds's door closed, then open. When I talked to him Sat., he said that he got home at 12 and went to bed at 12:30, lol.

amen! the moment that kid crawled out on the roof he would be gone!!!!!
I'm with you both, Pam and Ann, and I wish I had it to do over again, but I didn't know he had gone out on the roof until the next day (and I just focused on telling ds off for going out there). But in hindsight, I should have taken a few minutes to find out what exactly happened right then and there. Instead, I just told them all to get downstairs to sing Happy Birthday.

It's a tough situation--I adore his mother and believe me, my ds has done his fair share of misbehaving around her and she always forgives and forgets, like me. And I did tell her a couple of things that happened, but didn't go on about anything. She'll deal with it with him--I'm sure I'll get an apology the next time I see him.

I have been painting all day! Ran out of paint and got another can only to find out after I did the second coat of trim (3 hours later!) and dh did the rolling that the color was off! Called in this morning and they said that can happen when the paint is mixed in a different machine than the first time. They gave us 3 cans free, but I am beyond tired of painting. :bawling: Taking a break and then I am going to try to get motivated to paint some more.

Mick - Sounds like a crazy night! I had one of those during Christmas break when my boys had 3 friends here. :crazyroll There always seems to be one kid who pushes it and it's so hard to 'discipline' bcuz I always feel bad for my boys - like I'm a big meanie and I don't want to embarrass them. :\ Glad you survived it.

oh, it sounded like you knew that night..that is rough when you don't know till the next day.
sounds like you have a good relationship with the mom and can at least know she will handle him.

i am bad about jumping on my kids first and not getting all the details too. not that it excuses their actions, but i think it would be better for our relationship if i showed i was more on their side.

Have you tried running the vaccum cleaner? My friend finally taped the vacuum cleaner running so she didn't burn the motor out of it. It worked like a charm on her ds's colic. I hope he's through it soon!

I agree with the others... his parents would have been called and he would have been out of there! Did you say anything to his parents about all the things their little angel did/said? How awful that you were put in this position having to deal with all the kids and apologizing to their parents Ugh... You've definitely gotta wonder......

I thought it was really smart of them, but you probably have a lot of time to think as you sit with the vacuum running for hours at a time, lol. I told them they should market it and about a year later I saw a tape for sale with vacuum cleaner sounds, rofl.
