Update on my step mom...

:yippee: After quite a scare we got good news!! :yippee:

She went to Mayo on Friday for a consultation and had surgery yesterday! Talk about moving quickly!! Anyway, she had a hysterectomy and they removed her growth - it was BENIGN!! :yippee: She also had severe endometriosis and had to have scarring scraped off of her colon, bladder, etc. She said her back hurt worse last night from the scraping than her incision did! The things she descibed going on in her body had my mouth hanging on the floor. She's pretty lucky this growth came along so they could discover what was going on. Anyway, she seems to be in good spirits and feeling good considering everything. (Her hometown drs had ruled out endometriosis and had also incorrectly written in her records that she had a tubal ligation! Unbelievable!!!)

Thanks for all of the support! Feels like I can breathe a little easier again! :)

Whew! What a relief! I just love to see doctors move quickly instead of "wait and see." When will she be home?

Thanks gals! :) When I talked to her yesterday they weren't sure when she'd go home, but they're thinking the end of the week? I think she got in for surgery so quick bcuz her CA-125 test came back at 109 and the cut-off is 35 - I think they really thought she had ovarian cancer. :nervous: Thank goodness it was just a big scare!! :) And, thanks again for all the good thoughts!!! :)

They never keep anybody in any longer than they have to anymore... :) but I'm sure that she's probably more than ready to go back home. I'm so glad that everything turned out okay and that she is doing so well.
