Ds1 didn't bring home a permission slip for a field trip to Montreal. Dh went with him this am to see if they could take him but no room on the bus. They have already squeezed as many kids as they could and can't get another bus for one kid. Guess he'll learn next time to bring home the paper, especially when he told me about it and I told him to look for it. I feel bad that he's missing it but he's not the only one at school not going.
Ds2 is at the ultimate frisbee tournament today. He is so excited to make the team. May pop in at the field if I can find it, not our town.
No big plans today but laundry.
Have a good day :)
Our Reading "Water Fun Day" is today. Can't wait! Not! It's about 55 degrees outside and we have a fun filled day of water activities scheduled for the entire day. I know the kids will have a blast, but I'd rather be house cleaning.
Morning all, same old routine here....Work, Home, dinner, then the
Jr. High tour, which I thought was last night :goofy:
I did a few loads of laundry last night, so I don't have to spend the weekend climbing the mountain.
I would love to stay home and clean the house while the kids and dh are out of the house....Now if I was really home today, I sure wouldn't do it....

Morning All!
Only have a few minutes....gotta go to work early! Atleast I'm making money this week....But I can't wait until friday to relax.
Hope you all have a great day!
I would actually love to be home cleaning today also, since I still haven't tried the new mop ds gave me for Mother's Day :grimace: . Took ds to the hospital this a.m. for a respiratory test. Think it's a waste of time, but I guess it will be a good "rule out" done.
Working today, ds has guitar tonight then he's snack shopping with friends for his trip to Gettysburg, PA and Washington this weekend, leaving from school at 7 a.m. tomorrow, coming back Monday evening. Hope he has great traveling weather.

Today is a day to spent looking for summer activities for my Pre-K class and spending time working on their Parent's Appreciation Day program. I am teaching the kids Spanish and they have really picked it up fast for being only 3, 4 and 5 years old. I am so proud of them, they can already count from 1-15. Next week, I start teaching them 16-20 and I'm gonna start teaching them short phrases to say. I am soo excited for this program, but I gotta figure out an interesting way to introduce the Spanish to the parents.
This week has been a good week, I moved out of the dorm on Sunday and this is my first official week of summer. I feel sooo relaxed, it's great! My male friend left for Cali last Saturday and I know it's so hard not seeing him everyday, but hopefully we will keep in touch this summer. I miss him like crazy, but we said that we would see other people this summer and come back together again in the fall. Definitely difficult considering that we both have deep feelings for each other.
And y'all I am writing a screenplay. I'm gonna have to post it here for you to read. It's one of those teen road trip type scripts.
Anyways I hope you all have a blessed day!
Just popping in while dinners in the oven. Need to get a few things done before AI comes on. I wish we got tv shows the same days you guys did. Then I wouldn't have to worry about finding out spoilers unless I looked for them. AI results are the first thing on the computer when I get up in the morning so it's never a surprise!
was on a roll..got the music cranked up high (a very eclectic mix..Dreamgirls, Bon Jovi, Areosmith and Meatloaf LOL), got the kicthen cleaned, some cabinets organized, was getting ready to do the floors when all the sudden the room started to spin and i barely made it the bathroom before i began to violently throw up.
that settles it..i am officially allergic to housework!!!!:grimace:

Not much planned today. Dh is supposed to only have 11 trucks to fill, so he should be home much earlier than usual. I woke up this morning with a horrific headache, so I got dh off to work and I laid back down until ds got up. I fed him breakfast, and then played with him until we had company. After company left... I put ds down for a nap, and I started work.
Not sure what tonight holds. I know since dh got in late last night, we are supposed to do cake tonight.
Have a great day everyone!

I left earlier this morning and hit a few yard sales... but I didn't find/get too much. I went to one, and I couldn't believe how high they had their things priced. They wanted $5.50 for a cute little sweater (not name brand) and $2.00 for a plain pair of white socks. LOL I saw the same exact sweater at another garage sale with a .50 tag on it. LOL Anyway... I got Sarah a bunch of Gymboree shirts/pants for hardly nothing. I just  Garage Sales... LOL
It's finally warming up today... only up to 70, but much better than it has been. It's no longer windy... which has been just terrible this year.
I've got to go to my friends house to help her for a while again with her dck's. It will only be for about a half hour until her dd can get over there. Her kids were so good the other day when I was over there, but I'm SO glad it's not something I have to look forward to doing each/every day anymore. It makes me wonder how I ever did it as long as I did... and survived. :)
Hope you're all having a great day!

Oh how awful!!!! I hope it's a short lived thing.
Ann, hope you're feeling better now, or will soon!
To answer your question, DS has had an annoying cough for about a year that he's been seeing the doc on and off for. In the beginning it'd just been a need for him to cough because of an irritation in his throat (and even to this day, it's not a coughing "fit", just a once or twice cough a few times a day, it almost sounds likes it's a need to clear his throat). In the beginning it was treated with a nasal spray he takes for allergies (even though his allergies weren't bothering him). It didn't seem to be doing any good, but then ds wasn't taking as prescribed and only seemed to take it when he remembered. So after a few months, he seen the doc again and was told it was nothing. Then sometime last fall, his cough was more than irritation, but became more a need to clear his throat of mucus. Again, we tried the nasal spray, but ds quickly gave up on it. One of ds's friend said that it's become habit now and not need related, lol. I asked the doc back in Feb. if he could send ds to an ear, nose, throat specialist in case it's a nasal drip or something, but instead he set up this appt. for a respiratory test (took months to get too). Again, I think it's waste of time, but like my co-workers keep telling me, it's probably to rule out something before he recommends a specialist. When I went for my booster shot on Monday, he said if this test comes back normal, he'd send ds to a respirologist(sp?), but I think he needs an ENT.

I've been working on getting the house cleaned out and organized so I can paint. We've got to get the house on the market pronto and I'm feeling overwhelmed! I've got a couple friends coming to help out next week. I wish our neighborhood sale was this weekend and not in 2 weeks.
I start the biggest loser at church tonight. I'm pumped up about it! I hope it helps with my feeling tired/sluggish all the time.

Talent Show/Spring Concert at our school tonight. Ds1 is playing in a quartet (he plays the saxophone)...ds2 is playing an accompianment for two girls singing a duet. Should be fun.
It's been such a busy week!!! I'm so ready for the weekend!!
I finally was able to take a deep breath today for the first time in what seems like weeks. I locked down the vacation and the rest can be done once we get there. I am still surprised at how incredibly involved (a nice word for obsessive LOL) over the research and locking it in I was. I actually couldn't focus on anything. I actually got the downstairs and all the bathrooms are cleaned today. Still didn't make it outside for a walk.:banghead:

Whatever it is, hope it's goes away.

It's just been more an annoyance than a problem, per se...I am not fond of the crude sound he makes to clear his throat after he coughs twice, lol.
Angie, tell us more about the move/package.

You mean it's not here yet?
The Water Day was really a blast. We had beach volleyball, water sprinklers of all kinds, giant bubble stations, water relay races, hit the principal with water frizzbees, dunking booth, water wars, water slides, rock wall, snow cones, grilled burgers, and of course plenty of mud. I took nearly 200 pictures. Kids all were lathered with sunscreen. I'm roasted!
I wish we'd done this on a Friday. I'm exhausted and wish I didn't have to go tomorrow.

Angie, tell us more about the move/package.
Brichard did get his relo package and it is very good. There were a couple things that need ironed out, one is they wanted him there on June 1st. They are changing that to July 1st, so if they want him there before that they can take care of the cost of that. I was dead sure certain that we were going but brichard wants to take the weekend to pray and talk about it. Dd#1 is getting very weepy about it and that makes it hard, but I know it'll be a good move for us.

Taking the weekend sounds like a good plan. I am sure it will all work out no matter what the decision. Good luck.

Moving is such a pain, so I understand the process of it all. I never had to move as a young child, but I'm sure the move is hard on your daughter quite simply b/c she doesn't wanna leave her friends or school. It's hard for kids to deal with moving; especially if they are social butterflies or if they are a bit shy when it comes to making new friends.
Good Luck!

but on the other hand, kids are resilient. Amy, JAK, and Renee have all moved with school age kids and they did great. Do they have neighborhood pools that you could join?

I agree... kids seem to have a way of adjusting. I've known many families who have moved and they have done just fine. Not saying it easy at first but they make new friends and life goes on. :)

Last year one of the families I use to do day care for moved half way through the school year. Their ds was in his first year at the Sr. High school. He was very popular, played in a lot of sports. It was really hard for him having to walk into a new school where everyone had already made their friends. It didn't take him long because he was so outgoing... but I'd really feel for the child who wasn't. I know I definitely would have had a lot of problems adjusting and fitting in if it had been me. :(

My dd will be moving between her sophomore and junior years of high school. I really feel for her, but I know she'll be OK as we have had to move SO many times. She's pretty social and makes friends easily.
Angie- Good Luck with your decision. We've actually never gotten to move in the summer, it's always been in the middle of the school year. The kids always seem to adjust.

awww that's heartbreaking. you can't even taste the new recipes before everyone else. That's what a true chef does, that's why my mom was hardly ever hungry during Thanksgiving and Christmas, b/c she was always eating while she cooked the dinner.
