I have the day off and enough time to check in here!!! :) Going to clean the house today, run errands and go to lunch with some friends. Ds got his braces yesterday. Couldn't eat this morning, poor kid. Busy as ever around here. I try to pop in when I can, but usually don't have time to read much, let alone reply. :bawling:

Ds4 has seemed to put himself on a scheduel. How cool is that. For the last 2 nights he slept 8 hours, same hours. Gets up at 5 am and has a bottle then and every 4 hours with the last one at 9 pm. Oh ya baby. Life is good! LOL I hope it continues, Im lovin this!
Have a doc appt with ds2 today. No other big plans. Just waiting to wake up ds1 for school. Ds4 is happy playing.
Supposed to be hot and sunny maybe storms later. Not sure if the teen girl we have coming in is coming today or not. Sometimes she cant because she has to babysit her cousins at the last minute if her sister cant. So far its going great though, have her washing out cupboards and re-organizing right now but also doing windows, floors, walls. She will unload the dishwasher, reload. Takes a lot of pressure off me right now.
Have a good day all :)

How nice to have a Mother's helper Mel! Don't the older boys help out too?

Jen-enjoy your day off! What I liked most about working was appreciating time off. LOL

Another hot one. I am going to squeek in a walk, hit the cell phone store and then go to ds's IEP meeting. We are going to determine his services for next year. From what I understand it will be a smaller class with 5-6 other special needs children. Lots of paras and push in/push out therapies. I am curious to hear the plan.

glad it's all going well, Jen...miss you!!!

your baby is sleeping 8 hours already Mel??? wow!!! great news!

Amy, your kids do washing out cupboards and re-organizing right now but also doing windows, floors, walls???? wow, will you come down and whip my lazy kids into shape!? good luck with the IEP.

get a phone call yesterday and this voice says 'hi i am ds' multimedia teacher'.
who???
i am just calling to tell you that (and uses his full name cause she doesn't know who the hell he is) is going to be receiving an F in my class cause he never showed up.
WHAT???!!!!!!
yes, he never came once
UH, he wasn't enrolled in your class he was on homebound (and why the hell do you wait to the next to last day to call if a kid has never shown up??!!!)
mrs w, i wanted to call cause i know an F will look really bad on his college transcripts.
you think??!!! he wasn't enrolled in your class!!!!!
well, he was on my rolls.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
hang up call hysterically to the head of homebound and talk to her secretary and leave a message, send a panicked email to his counselor saying WTF?????
this is just unfriggin' believable!!!!!!

so i guess my day will be spent battling this.
going out with our dinner group tonite, man I wish i drank, i think tonite i might need one! LOL

no joke!!
i did get a letter the other day from his idiot grade level principal saying that since he had excessive absences, he would have to do 'buy back time' which is essentially like a detention . we totalled up the hours they said he would have to 'buy back' and it was over 100 hours and for classes he wasn't even enrolled in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (like mulimedia!!!)

Ann, that is weird about your ds and that class...good luck sorting it out, hopefully it will be painless and you'll feel glad you didn't wish you could drink, lol.
Amy good luck at the meeting.
Mel, congrats on the schedule ds put himself on.
Jen, sure miss you...too bad you can't pop in and post as often as you'd like.

Working. It's sunny and hot here right now, but it's calling for rain. Need to get up and see my Dad as I didn't make it last night...we ate way too late and then still had errands to run. Might go see him on my lunch hour.

Thanks guys! I've had a good day. Wanted to get done more than I have, but such is life. Had a fun lunch with my girlfriends. We don't get to see each other often. Got a box with some shirts I ordered and none of them fit well. :bawling: I'm too fat.

Ann- I wonder what on earth that teacher was thinking. If a child is enrolled in your class and NEVER has shown up, isn't there a point where you'd kind of wonder why. Maybe talk to the counselors, the principal or call the parent (and not the day before the last day of school) to see what's going on with the child. It's not like he's in college. Hope you get is straightened out.

Sitting here taking calls as we speak... Haven't taken calls for two days now. I went with granny to the doc on Wed, and yesterday I washed and detailed vehicles, so I am trying to get back in the swing of things. I started at 8:30 and I work until 4:30. Then I have to teach from 5-9. I will be glad when this day is over. Dh got another job offer yesterday. The job he has now may only last 3 more weeks, and this job would start in about three weeks, so it seems like it would work out perfect, and it would be permanent. The only problem is after three weeks, I hope they still want dh.

Good Lord Ann... if it's not one thing, it's another. Bless your heart and I hope by now you'll well on the way to getting it sorting out.

I am ready for the beach!!
The bags are packed, the car gassed up (ouch!) and all we're waiting for is dd and her friend to get out of school. I can't wait to get my yearly fix of NC barbeque and sa-weet tea tonight!!!!!! :licklips:

Today was the last day of preschool and of course, I cried. There are some kids I'll really miss and it was hard to say good-bye. I got such nice gifts though, it made it easier. LOL I've got 3 new beach totes, 2 new beach towels, a couple of Target gift cards, a Willow Tree figurine, flowers, and a sparkly palm tree pin that I can also wear on my silver choker. Very sweet parents.

Ya'll have a good weekend!
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY :rwb:

Unbelievable Ann. How frustrating, hope it's worked out soon.
Amy, the older boys do have chores to do but they have been pretty busy with homework lately and this girl does things that I know they would not do or take forever to do. Or just not get it done properly and I can't sit and teach/supervise right now. :)
Dh got the kids a gas powered skooter for the backyard today. They are having a blast with it. Dh's reasoning was if they were heavy into a sport that would cost with equipment and all that goes with and they love this. Okay....LOL
Saw the pedi today that was helping us with ds2's add diagnosis and med treatment. Somehow she has us mixed up with another family and is contradicting in her final report that goes to the childrens hospital. Gave dh a different name, said we have to coax our kids outside (more like the opposite especially in the good weather) and said I have a signifigant temper when annoyed. I would take the words 'signifigant temper' as saying I would get violent and scream. Never did we give that impression or is that the case. She also said I was having a difficult time with depression which is also not the case especially when they saw us I was pregnant and peachy. I phoned her today after going over the report and asked her to call me back because I want this retracted from the report. After reading the whole thing a couple of times dh and I came to the conclusion she has mixed us up with someone else because some things did not make sense. I am so not impressed. I've had it with docs on the add issues. :(
Think I will watch a movie with dh tonight for the first time in ages. :)

(they are getting easier ;) )

Lucky you! Were suppose to have rain both Saturday and Sunday... and the only nice day is suppose to be Monday. The way our luck has been with holiday's, that will probably change to rain too. LOL

I hope your meeting went well. :)

After two day's of rain it was finally a nice day today. Shelly came over for the day seeing Bob had to work, so we went out to lunch... stopped off at the park on the way home so Sarah could play. She met a new friend while she was there and had a blast playing with him. (although I thought his mom was more than a little strange... :nervous: ) After she got picked up I went outside and worked in my garden... seperated some Hosta's and got those replanted. I need to go to Home Depot tomorrow and buy some plants and get those planted. I also need to get some hanging baskets... 15 total, but I'm going to wait until they start going on sale because I'm not about ready to spend $15.00 a piece on them. :(

Dh and I went out by ourselves tonight then stopped off at WalMart for a few things. Took a nice long bike ride when we got home... got kind of cold, at least my hands did, even with my leather gloves on. It was fun though.

Not much else... Hope you all had a great day!

Have you ever saved your baskets from the year before and replanted them with new plants? Seems like it would save a lot of money. Your yard is so beautiful!

Wouldn't he rather have/take something permanent than something that is temporary? What would he be doing with the job he was just offered? I hope everything works out, and good luck with the decision. :) :)

Well, he took this job driving because it was a job at the time, but it ends when potato season is over. He could continue to drive, and start hauling corn, but it would again be temporary. The job he was offered is with an electrical company here in town. It would be permanent, and I think that is what dh is going to take because we need some permanence in our lives right now, plus he can get his electrical license this way.

I have decided to resign and stay home. I would only make almost $1000.00very two weeks, and out of that I would have to pay $750-$800 in insurance for the 3 of us. Then we would have to buy a vehicle, so I would have a payment, ($200.00-$400.00 a month), plus vehicle insurance, plus gas, plus daycare at ($550 per month), so needless to say we wouldbe putting out money for me to go back to work. I am going to try and continue what I am doing now. It seems to be working, and I get to stay home with ds.

Yep... :) I saved them all and will fill some of them up with flowers I buy, but if I find a good deal like I did today... it's almost cheaper to just buy them. I'm going out tomorrow to buy a few more flats of impatients and begonias (@ $6.99 a flat) and I'll probably use those to fill in the baskets I've got saved.
