I haven't heard of those contacts - if you try them, let us know if you like them. I have disposable contacts and stretch the length of their use, but I rarely wear them - usually only if we are going out. I get lazy and wear my glasses a lot and would like to start wearing contacts again more often. I need to get in for an eye exam, so that's part of why I wear my glasses more.
Have you tried disposable contacts? I think they are pretty comfortable and I like them because I used to rip regular ones all of the time and it got expensive to replace them.
Good luck and let us know what you decide! :)
I'm a contacts girl. I only wear my glasses when I'm watching tv at night after I've already taken my 'eyes' out. I am guilty of wearing contacts too long (14 hours or 16 instead of the recommended 12). I have the 3 month kind, and I've never had any problems with them. My vision isn't so bad that I really need correction all the time. I can get around the house and go for a walk with no problems and reading is fine. Just don't wave to me from a car, or ask my to see a street sign when I'm without contacts (or one of my dd's).

Does that stand for Rigid Gas Permeables?
I have worn contacts on and off for years. I started off in soft lenses and went through the days of the little heater, cold treatment, and enzyme cleaner.
At some point I switched to Gas Permeables b/c they were supposed to be better for your eye and they were less maintenance. I mean, you would clean them in your hand and rinse them with water. I loved the low level of maintenance and sharper vision that you get vs. soft lenses. But... they were not nearly as comfortable. I would have itchy eyes all of the time.
This year I talked to my eye doc about disposable lenses and he mentioned they are much lower maintenane (they even have no-rub formulas where you simply drop your lenses in the case) and that they are just as healthy for your eye as gas perms.
He let me trial a pair for a week and I like them much better them Gas Perms! In addition to being comfortable and low maintenance, I don't have to worry about losing one. If so, I'll simply pop in another pair as the cost per lens is very reasonable.
I can't stand anything on my eye. I get sick just thinking about putting contacts in. I wear glasses just for reading. I love all the new cute little styles too. I have two pair.

I wear gas permeable hard contacts....used to wear hard lenses, but was told the gas perm. ones are better for you. They've never felt as comfortable, but work fine and are very low maintence. I have some eye problems that won't permit me to use soft contact lenses :(. But dh wears them. I also need reading glasses (with a low strength) esp. when my eyes get tired. This started when I was preg. with ds #2....doctors think it may have been hormonally triggered. who knows! I've always had eye problems, and have had glasses since I was 9 months old. So far the boys have fabulous vision...fingers crosed....and never inherited my genetic eye disorder. Thank goodness!

I have glasses right now but have worn contacts. I liked the contacts but found they were a nuisance when my allergies started acting up or when the sand started blowing while out on playground duty. Sand behind your contacts is not fun.

Before kids I wore soft contact lenses. After my first child I was so tired all the time I went strictly to wearing my glasses. I just recently went back to my contacts again now that my dk's are older. I just love them! I wear soft disposables.
had the disposable ones last time, but lately my left eye, the one with the stimatisim (sp) has been really bothering me....I think the RGPs are what you said Brichard...lol....I am going to go to the eye doctor and have some expert advice given to me...would love that eye surgery its so expensive....thanks for responding you all....
I've been wearing glasses for 25 years, when i first checked into contacts i couldn't get them because I had a prism in my lenses and I have astigmatism. Last year the prism was decreased enough that i could get contacts and the toric lenses(for astigmatism) have got much more reasonably priced. Well, I love my contacts, they are the disposable type, it took awhile to get used to not having that weight on my face, but it feels so great!!!
