UGH!!!!!!!!
If I though I was drunk last night I'd think I was hung over...lol. Although I drank quiet a bit I think I ate enought food that kept me in the buzzed zone. Man I probably ate enough sweets for a life time...maybe it's a sugar withdrawl...LOL.. But we had a blast!
Think I'm cleaning today if I can feel alive again....
Well have a good day!

Dd2 and I (and maybe dd3 if she gets out of work early enough) are going to my brother's house for a bbq. My sister and her family are visiting from Houston, and I haven't seen them since Dad's funeral. Two of my other sisters will be there as well. I was going to pass, but they've been here for me, so as much as I cringe at my family gatherings..... We're going. Actually a change of scenery will be nice. My brother asked me to bring potato salad. I cheated and went to Sam's. They have a delicious (and egg free!) redskin potato salad that I love!!
Have a happy Sunday, all of you!

Yesss. They are so cute, and "Buuud" (think Bud like on the Cosby show) LOL
is warming up finally.
Picked up the mother? What mother?
I don't know who I loathe more at this minute--myself or dh. We were at my parents house cleaning out some stuff for there move this coming weekend and I decided (with dh's major input) that my sister and I should clean the house out and run the estate sale. I knew we would have to get a dumpster and clean out and tag each room. But then I looked in the garage and saw all the junk there and then thought of the amount of crap in the basement, attic and wherever else they could stuff 40 years worth of crap.:banghead: :banghead: Dd and I were amazed on how little my mother has thrown out in the years. There was medication with expiration dates of 1994, 9 tubes of hair rinse (the kind that come with home hair coloring), 50 bars of soap and this was just one bathroom. The next two weeks are going to be hell!!!

{{{Amy}}} I feel for you! When my Grandmother passed away in '86 I watched in amazement as my mother and aunt pulled bottle after bottle of Windex, rolls and rolls of tp, bottles and bottles of dish soap from their HUGE pantry. :( What took the cake was the containers of rasperries from the freezer with a date of July '69... before I was born! 8o 8o 8o  I know you know this and I know it probably doesn't make it seem less of a mess, but it is sooo much better that you're doing it now, rather than after one or both of your parents have passed away. It's so much harder then. (((HUGS))) again.

My family loves Sam's Club potato salad, except most of them don't know it's from Sam's. (they've never asked... :) ) LOL The only thing I don't like about them is that they're egg free... so I'm usually boiling/adding eggs to mine. :)
Hope you have a nice visit...

OMG... I feel for you. :( I don't know what it is with old people keeping things... they just seem to hate throwing anything away. 8o 8o I'm lucky that when my dad passed away and mom had to move, she got rid of a LOT of stuff... and has made it a point not to buy/keep a bunch of stuff she knows she won't need/use.
My in-laws were terrible. We ordered a dumpster and just started pitching it all... It was kind of sad because I knew it all meant something to him, otherwise he wouldn't have kept it, but he had the worst taste and kept the dumbest things. LOL Made no sense...
Good luck... I hope it goes much better than you think it will.

Last night was rough. Dd2 and ds were taking turns waking us up all night long. I've been a total zombie today.
I was hoping to get some painting done in ds/dd2's bathroom, but I guess that will have to wait til next weekend now. Just too tired to do it today.
My mom called today and wants to have dd1 for the week, so she will be coming to pick her up tomorrow. There goes her one free week of nothing to do this month.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

We had a nice long day today. We started out by going out to breakfast with some friends, stopped off at Shelly/Bob's house to check in on the ferrets... :) then went to the hospital to see Marcella. :) :) They had her sitting up in a chair facing the door, as if she was just sitting there waiting for visitors. The second she saw us she got this huge smile and started waving. She was so happy/excited to see us. :) Anyway... they put a cap on her trech (sp) so now she can talk... and talk she did... LOL We could hardly get a word in. :biglaugh: Anyway... it was a much better visit than the last one we had (when she wanted me to turn her ventilator off) and we walked out of there feeling much better about her recovery. She goes to PT three times a day and they said that her chances for going home and living a normal life are very good. :) VERY happy for her... There were many many times when we were told she wasn't going to make it... but leave it to her to prove them wrong.
After that we came home and picked up our bikes and went riding for the better part of the afternoon. Stopped off somewhere to eat, then back over to Shelly/Bob's house to check up on the boy's (ferrets) again. After we got back home we decided to sit and relax in the back yard... until the phone started ringing. It was my mom wondering if we knew what was going on because there were a lot of police cars/ambulances going past her house down the highway. I'm like... no, (how would I know?... LOL) I told her if I heard anything I'd call/let her know. I hardly had the phone down and it was ringing again. This time it was Dawn asking us if we were home. Well... yeah, that's the number you called, right? TOTAL sigh of relief on her end... and I'm like, what's wrong? Well... to find out that there was a terrible motorcycle accident on hwy. 61 and of course they were driving past just in time to see a red motorcycle, just like dh's, and the paramedics were working someone laying in the street. :( They couldn't see anything else... so of course she was panicking (not helping her anxiety at all... :( ) She was sad for whoever it was, but happy it wasn't us. You find out just how much everyone loves/cares about you because for the next hour our phone kept ringing with all our friends, more family calling to make sure we were okay. It made me feel great... but still very sorry for whoever it was. I haven't heard anything... so am hoping it wasn't as bad as it appeared.
Anyway... dh's downstairs watching a movie and I'm here. I've got a few dishes in the sink the needs to get washed/wiped and put away so I'd better get going. I hope you all had a great day!!

My goodness! That is so sad about the accident... I am very glad to hear that Marcella is making a good recovery.
I can totally understand Dawn's reaction..that would have flipped me out too!!!
years ago when i was working for my dad, i got to work on a monday am before he did. the phone rings and a man asks for him. i say 'he's not in yet'. there is a pause and the man says 'well, um..have you TALKED to him recently?'
i told the man yes and hear this huge sigh of relief. there had been a boating accident down were we had our bay home and the man's last name was the same! the man couldn't figure out a way to ask 'hey, did he die??'.

here's the article...

I totally understand how she must have felt. I could tell she was pretty shook up and was relieved when I was there to answer the phone. When she came to drop Sarah off this morning she reminded me about how much she HATED motorcycles. With the gas prices up so high there are a lot of people buying motorcycles... so there are a lot of them out there. It was so nice on Saturday and Sunday there were a lot of people out joy riding, us included. We went through that same stretch of highway probably not more than 20 minutes before that accident. (won't tell Dawn that though) I really feel bad for them/the family... :(
