Biopsy results

well, they are 99 percent sure it isn't cancer...thank goodness, but I still need to have a lumpectomy....the right lope of my thyroid removed, its and overnight stay in the hospital, and I will be under for an hour...SIL told me she would take the kids, so that great...dh is worried but doesn't say anything...I've never had major or minor surgery, except for teeth pulled....kinda scared...the doctor can't schedule me until two weeks, when he returns from his vacation...LOL....whatever...just want this over with at this point......they will tell me soon when I go in....then they will biopsy the part of the thyroid they remove to make sure there isn't cancer cells there....wish me luck....

Great news that it isn't cancer. I have had tons of surgery and except for feeling goofy coming up from the anesthesia and them waking you up to give you a sleeping pill, it's no big deal. Don't be noble..take whatever pain meds they offer you.

Sounds like good news! :yippee: I agree with Ann about taking pain meds if/when needed and not being scared to ask for them. Sometimes they wait for you to ask for them. Hang in there and good luck with the surgery! :)

Renee, That is good news. Good luck with the surgery, and hey--I could come visit you and update you on what you miss here--nah! the way things have been going lately, one day will just give you something to look forward to. Now that the decision is made and scheduled, relax and have some fun. The yucky 'waiting to hear' part is done!
