For ds's birthday, we are doing a bear theme. The invitations say The Big One, and they have a bear holding a one. Can anyone give me some ideas? I plan on putting teddy grahams and gummy bears in the goody bags. I was also thinking of trying to find some bear stickers, and maybe some bubbles. If everyone shows up, we will have 4 babies (that includes ds), 5 toddlers, 4 kids between 3-6, and 7 older children. Of course there will be adults too. I know not everyone will come, but I guess I still need to plan for them. I don't intend to really have games and such for the adults, but I thought I might need something to occupy the kids. I am just not sure what to do since there is a wide age group. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Those are neat ideas.. I love the banks, but I don't have near enough money to buy 19 banks at $4 per child. I am going to look into the pencils and stickers, especially for the older children. Thanks Vea!

One of my day care parents did a wading pool (your size of choice) full of those plastic balls. The kids loved them.

Gummy bears, maybe for some of the older kids. Lots and lots of BUBBLES... kids L:heart:ve them!
First birthday's are always so special and exciting. I'm sure whatever you have planned will be a lot of fun...

Thanks... a friend of mine bought him one of those that has a slide, and the ball toss, and the ring toss and a seperate wading pool. We are going to have that out, plus my parents have an above ground pool for the older kids, and we have decided to have it at their house. There just isn't enough room here. We do plan on having it outside, but just in case it rains, we need a place big enough to hold everyone, and my house wouldn't do it...lol!

Coloring sheets and crayons out for the little ones (copy teddy bear pics off-line or from coloring books) - pin the honey pot on the bear....

sounds cute!

This is sort of what we have decided.... We are going to have it at my parents at 2:00. They have a pool, and I am going to take ds's little pool. We are going to have the bubbles set out for them in different locations. We will serve light snacks of finger sandwiches, veggies and dip, and potato chips. I will of course have some baby snacks too. Then I will let all of the kids deocrate their own cupcake. I am going to have different color icing, sprinkles, and then I am going to hopefully get some of those bears on toothpicks that they can put on their own cupcake. My mom and dad's friend is decorating a bear cake for ds, and I am going to make a little one cake for him to have by himself. The kids and adults can then spend the down time swimming, and blowing bubbles, or eating the food.

Sounds like a good plan... and a lot of fun. You're going to have to let us know how it goes. :)

There aren't enough little ones that take naps anymore, or least ones that have regular schedules...

Man, if I were the parent of any of those kids, I'd sure be giving my kid a nap. LOL! I wish dd would take them now.
Have a great time!

Yeah, ds always has naps...lol! That is the only time I can get things accomplished. Usually his is around 11:00 until he wakes up around 12:00-1:00, so I am not interferring with his nap. the rest of my friends really don't stress for their children to go down for naps. I really don't know how they do it....it would drive me crazy...lol

Ok....plans have changed sort of...lol!

Birthday bags contain a thing of bubbles, smelly stickers (bubble gum and ice cream), teddy grahams, and gummy bears. I put them in a snowcone cup and put tin foil on the bottom and then turned them upside down, so they look like a clowns cap.

We aren't going to have bubbles at the party because my aunt is going to bring a train that attaches to the back of the 4 wheeler for them to have a ride, and we still have the pool.

For food, we are going to have mostly the same thing, but I am going to bake that bunny bread that Ann and I made for Easter... I am just going to try and shape it like a bear instead of a bunny. The other thing that has changed is I am baking the cake now, my mom and dad's friend found out she has to work, and will not have time.

With the train and the clown caps, it has sort of turned into a circus theme...lol.

We are also going to do a time capsule.... Each guest will write something to Brayden for him to open on his 16th or 18th birthday. (I haven't decided when to have him open it yet) I might try to do the time capsule thing each year until that certain birthday, but not sure if I could keep up with that....lol!
