I'm sooo tired. I had a huge fight with a friend last night so of course I could not fall asleep.

I'm meeting another friend for lunch today and running a few errands.

cloudy....looks like rain today.

It looks like another bright sunny (humid) day. I've got to clear out the outside side of the garage and mow. I've got a few things I'm going to put a FREE sign on and put on my boulevard in hopes that someone takes them. Dh's got to carry our old toilet over to our neighbor's house and put a FREE sign on that too. Their back yard butts up to a very busy street... :) and she said they've gotten rid of two toilets that way, so I'm hoping someone will take it. It's pretty old, probably an original from when the house was built, (they made toilets a little bigger back then :) ) but is in perfect condition. I hope we won't end up having to bring it back home. LOL

Picking my mom up after dh gets home... Target to pick up her meds, and that's about it. I'm going to go through my closet/drawers and put some things together for a garage sale. I've got so many darn shirts/blouses, I know I really don't NEED that many, and I probably couldn't wear them all if I didn't wear the same shirt twice in one year... (yeah... that bad) so I might take the ones I like the least and bag those up. (make room for more... :biglaugh: ) Not much else...

I hope you all have a great day.

Vea... sorry to hear you had a fight with your friend. Hopefully you'll be able to get it resolved before too long...

Renee... Just a few more day's. :)

Hanging out with dd and doing some picking up while the guys are at basketball camp. The house seems to be a disaster every day!! :\ Need to get groceries after I figure out what I'm making for the reunion this wknd - need something I can make ahead since we are heading to my mom's on Friday morning for Relay for Life and then to IA on Saturday a.m. for the reunion. I am thinking cookies, but that just doesn't sound all that exciting. lol Thought about coleslaw, but my sister told me that was boring. :crazyroll

Also need to hit the store for a topping for ds1's sundae party tonight since it's the last night of baseball - which I cannot believe is already here! :bawling:

Diane - We put a toilet on the curb (intended for garbage pick up, no free sign on it) and it got picked up. I couldn't believe it, but someone told us landlords will use them in their rentals.

Karla, I hear ya about the disaster. I figure though, if they can make it happen, they can make the clean up happen. What kind of reunion? I've started bringing Greek pasta salad to parties and it always goes over well.
Vea, hope you and your friend resolve things.
Diane, hope you can get rid of what you want.
Renee, hope you feel better today.

I took ds2 to see Harry Potter 5 last night. We loved it. Ds1 saw it with a friend on the weekend already. Waiting to switch some laundry and jump in the shower. Ds2 has swim lessons again today. He's having a hard time with the dunk your head under water part. He's willing to try in the deep end of the pool with a pool noodle and holding the edge of the pool but still won't dunk his head in. I think it has something to do with being afraid when he loses sensations like hearing and seeing at the same time. It's the unknown. I hope the instructor (who is awsome) can bring him around.
Dh has euchre tonight. I would love to go, I may bring ds4 in for a visit with some of the ladies in there before it starts since they all love that.
Have a good day all :)

Good morning everyone...working today, and then I am off to the hospital. I am going to the hospital during the day today instead of at night because my mom isn't going with me, and I don't want to be on the road by myself late at night. Not sure what else we are doing today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!:):):)

Dh and dks are at Six Flags (Gurnee, IL) today with dh's sister and her family. I stayed back here to watch the dog (neighbors who usually do are gone for the week), catch up on laundry, and straighten things up in the house. We've had a full house since Sunday. BUSY!!! MIL arrives this afternoon...and is staying here. Tomorrow we all leave for a family reunion up north. Having company is so much fun...but totally exhausting!!!

I just go nuts looking at it when they are gone all morning, plus my bil was stopping over and his house is spotless. :\ I have done much better this summer with making the boys do chores. :yippee: Now if we could just keep up, but sometimes I'm just as bad bcuz I love to be outside when it's nice and the inside gets ignored. Family reunion on my dad's side - need a dish to pass for supper. What is Greek pasta salad? I'm open to try something new and yummy!! :) Thanks!!

I have learned that I need to relax a little more about the work in here. It needs to be done I can't do it all and they need to chip in or things for them do not get done. I've started giving the boys morning chores, once they are done, they can have the rest of the day. It's working out so far and they are learning that as long as they drag their heels the longer it takes for them to get free time.
I make the salad sort of like this, don't have the recipe near me. Cook up and cool the penne pasta. Add red onion sliced, english cuccumber, cherry tomatoes and green peppers sliced in thin strips. Add the sauce and feta cheese. The sauce is just extra virgin olive oil, garlic, oregano and lemon juice. In a pinch I have used the bottled greek salad dressing from kraft or added it to mine to get the extra flavor. But that's a side, not really a pass for dinner dish. What about penne pasta, chicken strips, cheese, broccoli and a creamy sauce. I get this at Costco and we love it but it doesn't come with broccoli and it should. lol
Have fun at the reunion. Nothing like that ever happens in my family (either side) and wish it did.

Forgot, the recipe also calls for sliced up olives.

I'm going to have to start being tougher about the chores and when they get them done. They have had bball camp the past 2 weeks and don't get home until after 1 and then they want a break, blah, blah, blah. ;)

Salad sounds yummy - thanks!! I think it'll work out great!

This reunion extends to my grandma and her siblings, all of their kids, etc - it's a lot of fun, but of course I don't know/remember everyone. This is the side of the family where my young cousin died unexpectedly this spring and it will be sad without her there. Anyway, I am still looking forward to going. Any people in your famiuly (either side) who would be interested in helping you get a reunion started? This one is every 2 yrs and it works out perfect. Date is set far in advance so people have time to plan. :)

Well it wouldn't happen on dh side because without mil, no one would be interested. In my dad's family it would have to be out west and my brothers couldn't afford to go, small family too. My mom's side, I doubt it would happen. Everyone is so scattered and unfortunately, most don't get along. Or they do for the first day or so and after that, old dumb stuff gets dragged up. This is a huge family, with 32 of us grandkids and we all have a few of our own. My grandmother and an uncle planned a get together while my mom was here and most didn't come and didn't even have the decency to phone and tell her they wouldn't be there. She was so excited, got up and cooked all kinds of food too and at 86, it wasn't easy on her. :(
