When do your dks go back to school??

We start with a 1/2 day on Monday, August 27th. We have that Friday off, too...making it a 4 day Labor Day weekend. Love that!!!! Kind of a slow/gradual start to the school year.

I have to start back for inservice and set-up the week of August 20th. :bawling: ;)

Us too! I could not imagine the start date in August, it would feel like a rip off. lol

Half day on the 15th of August and then full time after that.

Did I mention my little baby is off to kindergarten this year? Didn't I just bring her home from the hospital? She is so excited about getting on the school bus, which always makes me a nervous wreck! I hope we get a new driver this year. What ever am I going to do with my afternoons free? rofl!! :yippee: :brow::roll:

The 27th here.

Mel- didn't your kids get out of school way after everyone elses? Maybe that's why it would feel like a rip off to go back in August.

Think it's Sept 6th for us (I know it's the Thursday after Labor Day). Dh starts on that that Tuesday.

I think so and probably why. Here it was June 27th they got out, which seems so much later than it was when I was a kid. I'm sure we were out in mid June and went back day after Labor day.

Our set up week is the 20th and we have our full day staff meeting on 27 the kids start on 28th.

For the first time in a long time.... I am not even sure when school starts here...lol. It feels nice!

I was just wondering if there is any chance of you teaching in a school again? Do you miss it or do you like/enjoy what you're doing now better? I'll bet it feels weird not preparing for the new school year. :)

I do miss it, but when I think about having to leave ds again to do it, it doesn't bother me at all. That actually sends me into a panic attack. It feels weird not getting a classroom ready, but I do plan to go back to teaching when ds or other children I have start school. Until then, I will continue to do this job.

Dh and I are trying....against some people's wishes, but we decided a long time ago to start trying when ds was 6 months. We postponed it because of not having jobs, but now that both of us have permanent jobs again, we are giving it a go. I just hope it doesn't take 3 years again.

That would be great, Leigh... especially if you wouldn't have to wait too long. :) Don't worry about what anyone else thinks/wants... it's not up to them, 8o or any of their business for that matter. Good luck!!!

I couldn't imagine. I hate that my kids go back in August
(27th). when i was growing up we got out the Friday before Memorial day and went back the Tuesday after Labor day.
