take singulair? That is what they put ds on yesterday for his allergies. If so how did it affect them. I let ds have a dose last night, and then at lunch today, and he just doesn't seem to be himself. He just acts like he feels bad. I was just wondering if maybe the meds made him groggy and out of sorts.

My boys both take singulair...and have for a number of years. (My boys were put on it for their seasonal allergies, and asthma.) It's been awesome for both of them...we haven't had any side effects whatsoever. They each take a small chewable pill. Is yours liquid??

Is yours liquid??

It is little powder packets that dissolve in his food. The bad thing is he has to eat all of that particular food in one setting. Usually that would not be a problem, but he doesn't eat as much when he isn't feeling well.

Twice a day? My boys take their little pill only once a day (usually at bedtime.

Our doctor really recommends it...and it has worked for our kids. When allergies aren't as bad...and we're not having any asthma flare-ups (really cold weather!)...I don't give my kids the singulair. But, if they start to get a cold...or when the trees start to bud...or they are starting a sport training...then I make sure they get it. (LOL...okay, so they take it most of the year!).

He only takes it once a day as well....I am glad to hear that it works so well. I hope it takes care of ds's as well. Bless his heart, I was telling the last doctor that something was wrong because he had those bags under his eyes, but she would not listen....we saw a new doctor the other day, and that is who we are seeing from now on.

My ds has taken singular on and off for years. He always takes it only at bedtime. The only side effect he suffered is ear infections from it. I hope he grows accustomed to it and it helps! I know those bags under the eyes all too well!

He does seem to be doing better. I started squirting saline solution in his nose to help dry it up too. His bags do seem to be getting smaller, so I hope that means it is working.

I give it to him in the morning because that is about the only time now that he gets soft enough food to mush it up in. He likes to feed himself now, so he gets finger foods the rest of the time.

Thanks gals!

I would call the doctor and let him know that what ds is acting like, maybe he is getting too much?

He seems to be feeling better.....so hopefully it was just him getting adjusted to it!
