Well, dh had to work today, ds and I are skipping church because our sleeping habits got out of wack. I woke up with a bad dream last night and just had to go check on ds, I kept having to go check on him, and then he woke up... so needless to say, I slept in a little longer than normal this morning, and so is he. I don't know what caused me to have bad dreams, but I had them all night long.
I also bought the Simplicity bed, and there was a recall on some of them. I called the number and it says it isn't on ds's but now I am paranoid about that.
I need to do some major housecleaning today, and I need to head into town and get a nightlight bulb... I had to keep turning on the big lamp last night to check on ds because his night light bulb blew, so that might be part of the reason he woke up.
It was very foggy this morning and it looks like rain now, so not sure what else our day holds. I might put something in the crock pot for supper if I can decide what I want.
good lord...everyone is certainly impatient lately for threads to be started! LOL 8:30 on a sunday isn't all that late! ;)
church, dd gets home around 3 and then has to hit the books.

Sorry... I guess it really wasn't that late was it. I was thinking it was later in the day, and technically it is here...lol! I just couldn't sleep anymore and didn't want to clean, so I was hoping to come here and have an excuse not to clean for a little while!:goofy:

What a night WE had last night! First off, I've got the cold everyone else has had this week, so I'm hopeless and helpless. I took a Tylenol PM and crashed last night.
At 1 A.M. I woke to hear dh screaming and I could fanitly make out a noise, which turned out to be a car horn in front of the house (I was really groggy!).
Long story short, a drunk driver, hit a car parked in front of their house (3 doors down from us), pushed it up into the yard of their nextdoor neighbor and came to rest between our house and our neighbor's. The airbag went off and the sound of the horn was from the driver leaning on the steering wheel.
Now, we didn't know this at the time. All we saw was a car in the road, and a dude pacing back and forth up and the street. Dh called the non-emergency police number (again, b'cause we didn't know it had been in an accident) and 3 cops were here in under 5 mins.
By then the driver had taken off on foot and we could identify him and tell the police which direction he went. They found him, drunker than hell up the road, trying to get to his house. He admitted to being the driver, and they drove him down here to do the sobriety tests (which dd and I could see them doing from our front porch. what a lesson this was for dd!!!!) which he failed miserably. LOL
So dh is in the middle of all of it, since he had to i.d. the driver, and he was talking with the neighbor who had their car hit, etc. Pretty exciting night. And it all happened, and was cleaned up within an hour. And the weird part, we were the only ones up - no one else got up or came out. Heck, if dh had not started yelling about hearing something, I'd have slept through it too.
Today.... I'm staying home and nursing a sore throat, which I hate! Dh is at church and dd stayed home for some reason. They both have church stuff to do from 4-8 tonight so it'll be a quiet afternoon 'round here.

We had a great time out with friends last night....got home around midnight...could not go right to sleep. Needless to say I did not go to practice with dbf. May just hang out here for the morning. Might go to walmart if I can get motivated.
WOW Jen, such an exciting neighborhood! Glad they caught him, and that that no one was hurt!
Maybe a nap is in your future. Leigh you too!
Got lots done yesterday and the spiced apple cider was an awesome evening treat.
No big plans today....

Congrats, Renee. It does feel good to accomplish something. I've been scrubbing the floor in the upstairs hall. The finish on the hardwood is pretty beaten up. I can't believe how dirty is was. It looked like some of it had been painted black. Blech!!
How do you landlord people handle the damage done by some who don't care, or those who are plain destructive? This house screams abuse and poor management. (Well, I'm getting the volume down gradually. I don't even want a whisper!)
Geez, what DIDN'T I do today. RME We painted dd's room for her birthday, I went food shopping, I made more muck for my old dog who only likes chix thighs, gravy and pasta, I made all our business calls, cooked dinner, put dd's room back together, took a shower and now I can't move. LOL
Jen-that is a crazy story!!! Did you know the guy who was driving?
Cathy-do you own the house or are you renting?
Rct-yeah on the get go today! I really think when you don't procrastinate the crap work you have to do, it gives you such a high after you realize the rest of the day is for you!

It's my house, but the people who lived here before were long-term renters. I don't know when the owners even saw the house last.
It is going to be a great house!............eventually. LOL

It ain't easy!
The only way we agreed to keep our townhouse for rental property is that at least the outside was maintained by the assocation; not at the mercy of renters.
We haven't had a lot of destruction, but we have our first smoker in there now and it's just weird seeing someone else's stuff in your house (even though we haven't lived there for 12 years. lol)

I hope you got a nap in today... and that you have a better night of sleep tonight... (dream free)
My kids were always pretty light sleepers. If I turned on anything brighter than a night light they were sure to wake up, so I always made it a point not to. :)

Holey crap... what a busy neighborhood you live in. I can't believe anyone could possibly sleep through all that noise. LOL I'm glad the cops got there quickly and were able to catch the guy.

We woke up way too late this morning... I guess we got to bed a little too late and made up for it this morning. We went out for brunch, bumped into some friends and we ended up sitting/eating with them. We came home, dh sat and read the paper for a while, so I went and sat out in the back yard and read my book. We took our bikes out for a nice long ride. I was still a little apprehensive/nervous at first (after wiping out) but it went well. Dh's back has been bothering him so he went up to bed to lay down, fell back to sleep so I went back out to the back yard and did some more reading. Before I knew it, it was 6:00 and time to eat. The day/weekend went way too fast. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already... :)
