our school district is having a 'Parent U' today. they are offering all sorts of seminars. dh is taking one on 'paying for college' and i am taking one called 'college smarts', it's all about marketing your kid for college and scholarships.
dd may go to a carnival today at one of the elementary schools. high school football tonite (which means i will get to have my house to myself!!! cause i don't go to the games LOL)
It's been a busy day here already. Soccer and errands this morning, tidying around the house all afternoon and then we have a dinner to go to tonight. Hopefully tomorrow will be calmer. I need a nap! LOL
Good gloomy (weather-wise) morning! Need to make some stuff for dh's ball party (that's tonight), hit the bank to pay my Dad's phone bill and deposit a cheque.
Ann, enjoy your seminars. Is your ds going to college after completing this year? Our ds could be finished this year but he wants to go back for another semester next year, to take some elective that will help for college. It looks like he's wanting to get into the film industry in some capacity. I'm glad he's taking the extra year because then he can work full-time the next two summers to help pay. Right now he's not wanting to attend either the univ. or coll. I'm affiliated with to save his tuition :grimace:.

he doesn't really have a choice to stay in high school unless he fails! LOL
he could opt to go to community college, but his plan is to go to a 4 year college.
fortunately, we have alot of financial aid options.
We're puppy-sitting today and I'm in love! :* She and our dog are getting along really well and it's so cute to see them playing together! Makes me want a puppy!!! Must be nuts.

Bev, how's your Dad doing?
Pam, very cute pup.
I had the flu the last couple of days and think I'm back on track today. Was planning on going shopping because I really need clothes but it's cold and raining and not sure how bad I want to go out in that. The rest of the week is supposed to be sunny so I may wait until tomorrow. So now I guess I don't know what my plans are today, nice. :)

I am in a ho-hum mood. I think its a mixture of PMS and boredom. LOL I have been in contact with my expensive landscaping friend and we are going with him. He will scale whatever we need back in order to fit our budget. I just like the fact I can trust him on contruction. He is what dh calls 'problem solver'. When I told him about the other design, he immediately told me 3 problems with it and how it would need to be done in order for it to look right. The other guy really has no idea about it or potential problems. I think this guy will be able to WOW dh. It is hard to believe dh is the capricorn in the family. I'm the Aquarious, yet I am the one who is more stingy with money. LOL
Ann, I'm glad it's you and not me that's facing college next year, lol...sounds like all the plans are in the works and you are on top of everything.
Mel, my Dad's doing o.k., considering he's OLD, lol.
Amy, my Dad's a capricorn so I hear you on the stingy part, but he never held back from purchasing big ticket items that would benefit in the long run...and your landscaping is one that my dad would probably spend money on too. Good luck with it and enjoy.

weird...lazy day here. Went to friends house last night for poker. got home around 2. But I got 4 loads of laundry done and put away today.

Such a cute puppy. Dawn/James got a puppy about a month ago and she's just adorable. It makes me think about getting another one but I know it's not something I'd really want long term. I'll dog sit... and that will have to do.

Woke up early, ate breakfast then went down to pick up my bike. It was only 47 degree's... so it was a mighty cold ride back home, even with my leather jacket/gloves and helmet on. After I got back I went over to my mom's house to take Bruno out for a walk, (she's gone for the weekend) but I decided not to bring him back home with me (my cat isn't too fond of Bruno) until later.
We worked in the yard most of the day. We got all the lawn furniture cleaned and covered, the fountain winterized. We took down and got rid of all my hanging baskets and potted plants, then dh mowed the lawn while I came in to take a shower... but noticed my machine blinking with a message, so of course I had to check that. :) It was an old friend I use to do day care for who moved to Iowa quite a few years ago, and is now doing day care herself. I called her back and we sat and jabbered for over an hour. It was so nice to hear from her again. They're going to be coming back to Minnesota for a visit in December, so we made plans to get together.
Ate dinner, ran to SAM's Club to get some coffee and vitamin's then picked Bruno up on our way back home. I dropped/broke his big dog paw water bowl :rolleyes: so now I have to stop at Target tomorrow to replace it with another just like it. The cat is hissing/growling... not liking him in her house. I'm just hoping she's quiet about it tonight while were sleeping. LOL
Not much else.
went apple picking early this morning it was really rainy and foggy, but when we got there is was just beautiful fall weather for picking some apples.....we then stopped at the Macaroni grill for a late lunch on the way home...:drool:
I made some spiced apple cider and watch the Wizard of Oz with curled up in the couch with the family...what a perfect day!
My right shoulder is acting up, thinking it's the rainy weather we had today....so I just took a pain pill, which makes me sleepy :sleep: and nauseas....:sick: so off to bed I go....

went apple picking early this morning it was really rainy and foggy, but when we got there is was just beautiful fall weather for picking some apples.....we then stopped at the Macaroni grill for a late lunch on the way home...:drool:
I made some spiced apple cider and watch the Wizard of Oz with curled up in the couch with the family...what a perfect day!

It's been years and years since I've watched The Wizard of Oz... I should dig it out and watch it again some night. (I'll never get sick of watching that movie) LOL

That does sound like the perfect day Renee!! I hope your shoulder is feeling better.
