View Full Version : Can you please pray for ds2?
Ds2 swallowed a Magnetix ball a little bigger than a marble on Saturday. The doc on call said to just watch him, that everything should pass fine. This morning he started crying (really crying) and saying that his stomach hurt. I took him in to the doc and they did x-rays. The ball was still in his stomach (after four days) and the doc wanted him to see a pediatric gastroenterologist in Tucson. She was really blase' about the whole thing, telling me they probably wouldn't see him until next week, they would probably just want to watch him, it would be fine, blah, blah, blah. I get home, call the doc's office and now he has an appointment for tomorrow afternoon for an endoscopy to remove the ball (doc's words "it has to come out). :( So much for blah, blah, blah, right? Right now my biggest concern is probably trivial... he can't have anything to eat after a light breakfast before 8am tomorrow. We don't have to be at the hospital until 2:00. :( So, if you could please pray that he wouldn't get sick from not eating (it's happened in the past) and that the proceedure would go smoothly? Thanks, ya'll.

Poor kid! Praying it all goes well!
My sister's 3yo swallowed a penny--gagged and choked on it all the way down and my sister was a wreck. The pediatrician said, "Yeah, just watch his diapers." My sis told him that her son's potty trained and he replied, "Well, he'll probably just pass it." Very blasé, too. I'm sure they get kids swallowing stuff a lot, but I would think they would want to make sure it passes without doing damage.
Let us know how it goes tomorrow!
Oh, poor guy. Prayer said.

Aww, poor guy. Prayers said. I'm sure everything will go fine with the procedure. I remember when ds2 swallowed a marble and the doc said the same thing, just watch to see it passes.

Glad it's gone and no procedure. Even more, I hope that is the last he does anything like that. lol Ds2 learned his lesson too and it wasn't nearly this scary.

I am so glad that the procedure wasn't needed. I am sure that is a much needed burden off of your shoulders.
Glad everything "came out" ok! I'm sure you were really scared.
