Does anyone have any plans for Valentine's day? Do you go out to eat? Does dh send you flowers? Do you give anything to your kids? I think we may go out to eat, otherwise I will try to prepare something "special". I have little presents for the boys to unwrap. They both have parties in their classes this week even though they are only 2 & 4, so we will need to get treats tonight. Oldest ds is tired of writing his name on his Valentine's even though I have tried to break it up and not have him do them all at once! :) I like to make holidays a big deal for the kids, but I sometimes have a hard time coming up with new and fun ideas.

dh gave me a box of candy for Valentines day even though I am trying to lose weight.
He on the other hand got a leather bandana and matching gloves that he has wanted for riding his motorcycle, 2 ards, an e card and fresh baked heart shaped muffins that ds and I delivered to work (still warm at that). Plus other ds made him a Valentine, and a heart shaped cake for dessert. Easy dinner tonight. I refuse to cook! The boys got a candy bar and a small box of conversation hearts plus they each got a gameboy game. Normally I wouldn't buy that for them, but they arrived way too late for Christmas. I ran from dh's work to school for the older ds' class party. What a mad house! It was fun though. He had half a day, so we did cute fun stuff like delivering Valentines to the neighbors, and baking.

Sounds like everyone had a great day. I had to work, but I had the early shift, so I was going to fix a nice dinner. Dh got off work late though, so we just ordered out, and went to bed. Pretty boring. LOL!!

I'm a bit late for the Valentine conversation but thought I'd tell you what we did to celebrate anyway.
My dh, suggested a few days before, "why don't we all go out to Kelsey's and take my mother along too" The big day arrives and about 4:00pm dh calls from work and says "Sorry dear, I have to work until 7:00, there's no way of getting out of it. Why don't you and Mom take the kids to the restaurant and I'll meet you there" About an hour later comes another call "I really need the file that's on my desk, can you bring it by on your way?" Fine, we load up the van, head to 'Mom's' but of course she isn't ready yet. so "Why not leave the kids here, I'll get ready while you deliver the file and then we can go!" Back into the van and off to dh's office I go.
BIG SURPRISE when I got there, dh had his office decorated to resemble the restaurant we went to for our first date, many years ago. He had the meal catered in, candles and a dozen long stem red roses. I musn't forget the tickets to Orlando for a week (with no kids ~ they won't like that) Sounds like something out of a book. It was wonderful. Let's hope he's still so romantic in another 10 years.
The kids and Grandma ended up going to McDonalds so they were happy too.

How romantic! It must have been WONDERFUL!!! :) It sounds like he put a lot of thought and time into it, even to just get you to his office alone! I'll be sure to share this story with my dh! :) (I can't complain though because mine is wonderful, too!)

As my dw has told you, Valentine's was great. Hope I didn't get too many dh's in trouble. I had a lot of help coming up with the idea from co-workers. It was a special night for us both!
Sorry Ann, I'm deeply in love with my wife. Even more so then the day we married if that's possible. I thank God for my family each day. I'll keep you as #1 in my book of fans. :*

Just left the room for two minutes to help ds find his mitt's, he's off sledding with his cousins. Boy was I surprised to come back and find the post from my dh, who is now pretending to be inecent and sleeping on the sofa. Can't leave him alone for a minute. He isn't always this sentimental, but occasionally it comes through. I love him anyway!

Wow! I must say I am impressed. I'm really glad that you guys had a great time. Hope your dh is that romantic in 10 more years too, but in the time between now and next Valentine's Day, do you think he would write letters to all the other dhs out there and help them out? LOL!!
