Dev. Peds and Speech Therapy coming. My mom is also coming to spend the day. It helps me tremendously when she comes on ECI days. She keeps ds busy so I can concentrate on Ava.

I need to finish laundry and do some housework today. Nothing else planned.

Have a great day all!

Morning, its still dark out, so it feels like I am up too early...

Beth that is great that you mother is coming to help out.

Up and showered, I am taking DS to school as he has a project that might not make it through a bus ride

Not much else today, work, dinner with the family, making taco salad and fresh guacamole

Have a great Tues. all

another lovely day. It's suppose to get into the 70's today. :) I might take my bike out for a little while... it will probably be the last time I get it out before we winterize them.

Finishing up the laundry I didn't get done yesterday. I hope to finish my book... but I'm going to call Dawn first to see if she wants me to come over to help her finish unpacking... or watch Sarah while she does. I know Sarah has speech therapy this morning and Dawn goes to bible study during that time... but maybe this afternoon.

Not much else. I hope you all have a great day.

How nice of your mom... I'm sure she really enjoys all the time she spends with him.

Woke up with a headache this morning and am taking a sick day! That might sound weird, but the kids are only assigned things that will need no assistance from me (basically everything but science and language arts). Not much going on today except finishing up halloween costumes.

I hope you all have a great day. :)

Well aren't you the crafty one Pam!! They all sound so cute!

I went to my dentist this morning with a toothache and I came away with an antibiotic prescription for a sinus infection, lol. Thank goodness!!

Spent the rest of the day volunteering for dd#2's class getting everything ready for the Halloween party tomorrow. Then her class went to the public library for a field trip which was fun. I checked out 7 new cookbooks for dd#1 to study for her dinner preparation this week.

Have a great afternoon!

I did something today that I never thought I would do. I went to talk to a therapist. I think I have told y'all in the past that I have issues with people depending on me and always wanting something from me, hence making me feel resentful and/or guilty. So for some odd reason I wanted someone to talk to. I searched my insurance website (because I am cheap!LOL) and found someone around me that accepts it. I did some research on him and found out he has published his own book and its very spiritual based therapy. I thought he might be on the freaky side, but was pleasantly surprised how grounded he was. It was the most amazing 50 minutes. We unearthed some powerful enlightening realizations. I am so hooked and so looking forward to helping ME. :) http://www.awakentheheart.org/ (the website is down at the moment)

Good for you Amy!!! It's refreshing and uplifting when you connect with the right professional. Dh and I have been to marriage counselors (not so much b/c we were in trouble, just needed a different perspective) and have come away with lots of good, helpful tools.
It's awesome to be able to rant, bawl and just talk to a totally impartial person.
Congrats! :)

We went to Katherine Olson's visitation tonight... it was by far the saddest thing I've ever been to. She was well liked... there were so many people there. I think everyone is still in a state of shock. I can't even imagine how hard this must be on her family. I know this is something I won't soon forget.

I think staying on top of your marriage, rather waiting until its in crisis is a true gift to yourselves.

I was always the 'go to' person that people sought advice, so it was amazing that I had someone that actually had answers for me. I have always been spiritual (but with no real guidance), so having that be a huge part of his therapy is like the best of both worlds for me.

No, it doesn't incorporate conventional religion. It has to do more with your connection to yourself and your personal relationship with God. Religion/bible study to me is building onto that intimate relationship. I can no longer put the horse before the cart and think that somehow that should fulfill me.

how do you connect with God without reading the bible?

Do you believe we are children of God? If you do, then your spirit is in direct link with God. You have to be intuned with your spirit in order to hear and feel His presence. To me, the bible is a source of information and education, but not the only direct link to God.

i don't think it's the only link to God, just a more direct one. it's the spirit of God in me, not my spirit. i find that God speaks to me the most clearly when i am reading his word and spending time with him in scripture. if i am reading his word, then i know i am hearing the right message, not something that my mind 'thinks' might be the right message. i trust his message more than my intuition! LOL

His message was interpreted and written by man! So he can only talk to some, but not all of us? So someone else's intuition is better than our own? Don't get me wrong, I don't pretend to talk to him or have conversations. I DO believe if I need him he will answer me though. Have you ever had a question or feeling about something, only to have the next song you hear answer it? How about craving His presence only to see the most perfect moment just happening. I believe answers and miracles can happen every minute of the day only if you train your heart (I call it Spirit) to be open to it. To live in that kind of euphoria that nothing is taken for granted and everything around you is one blessing after another is all I seek.
