We've got some new neighbors and I was going to take a gift over soon. What do ya'll think of a large bowl with a box of microwave popcorn, those cute little glass bottles of Coke and a Blockbuster gift certificate? Be honest. I'd wrap it all up in cellophane. It'll end up being mostly red, white and blue, too! I think it should end up costing less than $10 when I'm done.

What a cute idea! :) I hope I get neighbors as nice as you! :D
Very cool idea! Are they moving locally or from out of state? My one neighbor came over the morning we moved in with milk, fruit and muffins. I loved it because we had no food in the house and there was no clean up. Another idea I always like was a address book with all the important good info-best peditirican, places to shop, babysitters, best restaurants, playgrounds and etc.
Great idea, especially the price! Very thoughtful, but not like you're trying too hard. I usually bake cookies.

What a nice neighbor you are... I think that's a terrefic idea! We've had so many neighbor's come and go lately that I think everyone has given up on giving gifts. LOL When we moved in 23 years ago we had about four neighbor's who brought us over some home made cookies. A little bit later I swear the rest of the neighborhood came over, one with a big huge pot of coffee to go WITH the cookies they had heard everybody else had brought. Needless to say, it was nice to meet most of them all at the same time. It really broke the ice, and I found out later that a lot of the other neighbors who were there hadn't ever met each other before either.... so I guess we weren't the only ones meeting our neighbor's for the first time. lol That seems like SUCH of a long time ago... LOL
I'm sure that your gift will really be appreciated. :)

I have always made cookies too. I just love the movie theme/blockbuster idea. It will be something different from anyone else!
What a nice neighbor you are! I gave a very similar gift to my neighbors for Christmas last year.
When we moved in a neighbor brought over some homemade muffins and a 3x5 card with their names, address and phone number written on it in case we needed anything.
Great idea!!! I usually just take a casserole or breakfast food....love your idea!

I think that is a neat idea Donna. I have also heard of giving a information guide to the city of stuff to do, places to eat, babysitters, phone numbers, etc. for someone that is coming in out of city. I like your idea too though. Actually I like your idea better. LOL!!
