I thought I'd start the morning thread just to mess with Amy and Sista. :goofy: Slept in and then woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground. Since we've been getting snow off and on for the past few days, I'm sure it's safe to say we are going to have a long cold winter. Getting ready to do some book work, filing and laundry. Then I'm having a lazy day. (At least I hope I can.) Going to watch Transformers tonight as our family movie. I don't know how much dd wants to see it though. Last weekend we watched Night at the Museum and it was really cute. .

We're some sick individuals, Jen! LOL!!! ;)

I HAVE THE DAY OFF!!! YAY!! Dd is sick with a cold, so no lock in for her last night. Dh is outside tearing rotten trim off the house (which I know the neighbors love, here at 8:30 am!!)
I AM going to finish up laundry and clean this house AND drop a car full of stuff off at Goodwill.

This was the week that our school put on their musical, "Annie Jr.". Ds1 played "Oliver Warbucks". Very out of character for him to be on stage...much less singing solos and dancing! Oh my! We had a tux donated from a local tux shop...and he certainly looked like a "million bucks". Dress rehearsal was Wed, with performances on Thursday and Friday. I think I was as nervous and excited as he was!!! He did very well...tons of compliments! I'm so glad it's done! What a crazy week.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh That's me breathing for the first time in about 4 days! :-)

My mom has been here since Wed, so that she could see the show. She hogs my computer! LOL I've got lots of catching up to do.

Woke up to a light snow, but so far nothing is sticking. ( :yippee: ) I don't know for sure what our plans for the day are. I'm probably going to work on my curtains, maybe some yard work... a lot of leaves blew in from my neighbor's yard  the other day during all the wind we got. We need to go to SAM's Club... and I'm hoping when I get back home I'll be able to open the book I started to read last week and haven't had any time to get back into. :) Oh yeah... I'm still working on those Christmas cards!!! :)

Hope you all have a great day!

Mary, my dd never gets nervous, but i am a nervous wreck during her shows!! Congrats to you for surviving and your son for a great job!

i am in charge of the youth bake sale at church tomorrow, so i gotta go up and do some work on it today.
i made two cakes yesterday. bad thing about cakes is you really have no clue how they taste..they look good! one is a an apple streussal cake and the other an mandarin chocolate bundt cake.

Finally feeling like I can breathe! Our women's retreat is over and it was a huge success. Was very nerveous because I opted to present all the lessons myself instead of having a guest speaker come. I've been researching my lessons for months. Everything went well, the facilities were awesome, the food was out of this world and of course the bonding we did as women was uplifting and inspirational. The acoustics both where we stayed and even in the outdoor chapel were amazing and our acappella signing was so wonderful.

School is winding down for a little break. Yippee! Need that too. My group this year is a bit more challenging than last year's group. I sent several on to 2nd last year, but that won't be happening with any from this group. They are all definitely transitioning to 1st.

Dh is fishing in a tournament again today. He's either been fishing or hunting pretty much the whole time since he's been back. He hasn't gotten much done on his honey-do list. He'd better get busy because he heads out again for training next month, will be home for Christmas, then out to Louisanna in Jan. for 2 months.

I need to get back to my laundry, run to school for a little bit, get groceries, and then I'll be taking dgs to a donkey basketball game at school tonight. Should be hillarious.

Morning!
Renee ~ Just don't join my pms group....I am the biggest supper B**ch Today. Almost ripped dbf's head off for nothing and Screamed at the dunkin donuts person...because they could not get my ored right and it still wasn't when I left.

And I'm supposed to call dad this am but I don't want to yell at him so I trying to calm first.

I guess this is what happens when I screw up the last 3 days of birth control....ugh:tearhair:

I tried tying some of her work into our retreat as well.

donkey basketball?

The players ride very stubborn donkeys who don't cooperate. Players end up on the floor a good part of the night. The donkeys wear protective footwear so as not to harm the gym floor. Heaven forbide. I assume the game will be played in our old gym. We have 2 gyms for basketball and a 3rd for elem. P.E. The P.E. gym has no seating.

Yep...we have that "event" around here, too. It's usually something like the faculty of a high school...vs the varsity basketball team, or something. Very funny to watch.

Definitely a benefit to living in a small town..PETA, ACLU and I am sure a host of other groups would be all over a school that did that here! LOL

I've done that Beth Moore study and it is fabulous! Have you done the other Author's study "the frazzled female?" I was just curious which one you thought would be better.

Victoriously Frazzled isn't a Beth Moore study.
No, I hadn't done the other, but actually thought about ordering the book and doing it myself.

The frazzled study looks great. I ran to Barnes and Noble to get it but they were out so I'll head to the Christian bookstore tomorrow. Thanks so much for mentioning it!!
