Good morning everyone!!
Just getting my day started and trying to figure out which direction I am going.
Been a busy week around here already. On Sunday we had a 60th bday party for my mil. Yesterday I kept my great niece Madi all day. Gosh a 4 1/2 month old wears you out!!
Our little community has been hit w/another tragedy. A 14 yo boy was killed while he was riding his 4 wheeler. It provided a strong lesson to our 2 ds why you have to wear a helmet. Yesterday a 16 yo was killed in a car accident-she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Diane P.-just beg your dd to always wear her seatbelt. As I was reading my Bible this morning I thought of Renee's saying to enjoy today, it is the only one we get. Such truth to that and I am going to make sure and try harder to follow it.
Amy/CO-you don't like our hot Colorado weather??? I feel like I am wilting too. Its off to the pool for us today!!
Well better get moving. Have a good day everyone!!!

We've always made it a point to wear our seatbelts... none of our vehicles ever leave the driveway unless everybody is strapped in. If my oldest and middle dd's hadn't been wearing their seatbelts when they had their accidents... I don't think they'd be here with us today! (that along with a lot of prayer) We also made it a point when they were looking for car's that they both bought newer car's... with air bags, not cheaper older ones that didn't have air bags yet. MY La Barron doesn't have air bags in it at all. I LOVE the car... it use to be my FIL's. It's an 85 with only 45,000 miles on it and is in PERFECT condition... but it scares me that my youngest dd is learning how to drive on it. She totally refuses to drive dh's van though so... what can I say??? He took her out driving last night and she did really quite well for her first time. They were gone for about 1-1/2 hours and I was starting g to get a little worried/nervouse... I was pretty relieved when they finally got back home. Thank GOD she won't be able to get drivers license for another 6 months... by that time I'm thinking that she should be a pretty good driver. It AIN'T fun... just wait until it's your turn, then I'll be able to come back in here and read all about how nervous you all are about yours driving.. LOL

Diane, I can totally relate to your anguish. My oldest dd has her road test tomorrow. If she passes, she'll want to drive my (only) vehicle without me in the passenger seat. I'm going to do a little informal study on whether I get grayer watching her drive (pretty rapid color change--not to mention the heart rate!) or waiting for her to get home safely. She's pretty safe, and obsessive about seatbelts, but that's been while I'm watching. I have to come up with some guidelines for her...do you think checking in every 15 minutes is unreasonable?? How about no driving past the end of the driveway? I'm thinking she might object. LOL
At least you've been through this before, and I'm encouraged that you have retained your sanity.

LOL I really like those guidelines. They sound pretty good to me... I may even use them myself. LOL

When my oldest turned l6 she was SO anxious/excited to get her drivers license... couldn't wait. MY MIL had just died and my FIL had an extra car so he sold it to her at a good price. She was told that now that she had a car... she had to go find a job so she could pay for her own gas plus her portion of the insurance. Within a week she was working at a bakery that was only about a mile away from our house. It was the beginning of summer and they were only hiring full time workers and so she agreed to work full time. It was great because she was busy/happy making $$... and I was happy because I knew that SHE was safe... and also that her car was safely parked in the parking lot at her work. By the time school started back in the fall I felt pretty good about her driving skills... and was fine with it. My second dd didn't get her drivers license until she was 20. She never seemed interested in GETTING her license and I didn't push it either. LOL When she finally decided she needed it (because of work) she got her permit, bought a car and then shortly after got her license. I didn't get my drivers license until I was older either... so I think that's why I was so nervous about them getting their's at such of a young age, and sixteen still seems SOOO young!!! I mean, they're still BABIES... aren't they? It just seems like yesterday we were teaching her how to ride her two wheeler and taking her training wheels off and now were already teaching her how to drive a CAR... LOL I saw a kid the other day driving down the street and I swear... he didn't look a day over 9 years old. LOL He was sitting so far down in the seat you could hardly see him. LOL As far as grey hair... definitely! Lately I've found a few more than I care to admit to. Just about time for another hair apt. LOL Good luck to your dd... and to you! Let me know how her test goes. LOL :)

Spent a lot of time outside today and I also got some more packing done...feels like I still have a long way to go though! The weather has been in the 90's all week, but it's better than rain. :) We take lots of breaks and have lots of water toys, the pool filled, and sprinkler running to keep us cool. :)

Diane - Hope your nerves are hanging in there with your dd driving. :D

So, when is moving day??? I can't remember if you had mentioned it in another post but... just thought I'd ask again. I don't envy you with all the packing you have to do. Hopefully by the time you have to move the weather willl have cooled down a bit. This hot/humid stuff is for the birds. LOL All I can say is THANK GOD for air conditioning. LOL

My dck's have practically been living in the pool these past few weeks... it's about the only way I can keep them outside without burning up. Talking about burning up... if any of you have a blacktop driveway, make sure you don't let your little ones run on it with bare feet. Ugh!!! I had one little guy who forgot and took off running across the driveway. When he realized that his feet were hot/burning his first reaction was to SIT... Not exactly a good thing to do. He's okay but... I think his poor little butt is feeling a bit tender tonight. :) His mom said he's doing fine but I felt SO bad... poor kid!

Anyway... I hope you all had a good day. Tomorrow's Thursday and I'm already SO ready for Saturday when I can hopefully sleep in late.

Hi Diane! We move the last wknd in July. I can't wait!! I try to pack a little each day, so it's not so overwhelming. I see boxes stacked all over, yet it feels like there's still so much to do! It's also hard to stay motivated when it's so nice outside!!

Bummer about your little dck guy and his feet and bottom. :( I'm sure he'll be feeling better soon. My nephew walked into freshly poured tar when he was a toddler!!

Did you hear about the dck in Rochester who died? So sad! :(

Hope you're surviving this heat! I think our high for Thursday is supposed to be 96!

btw - Did you talk to another realtor yet?

Well... you've still got an entire month to work on that packing. LOL I'm sure you'll get it all done long before that time... unless your a big pack-rat like I am. LOL Even FINDING boxes to pack stuff into can be a problem. LOL Good luck with it! :)

Yes, I heard about that poor little dck in Rochester... what a shame!!! It's providers like that who give all of us a bad name. People are already so scared and reluctant having to leave their little ones with us... and then they hear stories like this??? I can't say that I blame them... I'd sure be more than a little nervous about leaving MY little ones in a day care after hearing about this. I feel for the parents... this NEVER should have happened... no excuse for it what so ever. :(

We met with another realtor up at the house tonight as a matter of fact and he backed up what the other realtor said... He agreed that there is no reason why that house sitting on that particular lake shouldn't sell for at LEAST $309.000. He said that he may have put even a higher price tag on it if it had been him. LOL (he also had comparisons) Anyway... we've contacted the other realtor and he's suppose to come out sometime this weekend to get the paper work going. I'm really getting excited about it... mainly just to see what it WILL sell for. LOL

Yep, I'm a packrat - maybe that's why I'm feeling the pressure! LOL! I'm hoping this move gets me more organized. I have been trying to sort thru and ditch stuff. :)

Re: the dck boy... there are lots of wonderful dck providers out there. Hopefully this won't make people lose their faith and trust in them. It's one thing if this was a tragic accident, but there's just no excuse for what this woman did. :( Keep up the great job you do for your little ones. :yellowhea

Hope the house sells fast for you guys - I really think it will! It will be interesting to hear how it all turns out!
