I came across a brilliant creation that is helping me stay satisfied (even extremely full) for low calories! It started as me looking for ways to add soluable fiber to my diet.

Take 1/2 c. Quick Oats (plain)

1/2 tsp. brown sugar

1/2 banana

Thinly slice the banana on top of the oats and add the brown sugar on to the bananas. Add water to liking and microwave. The bananas turn to a paste and act as a sweetner. Mix well and drink with a 16 oz glass of water. Between the fiber and water, it stays with you a long time.

Dd is a huge snacker when she comes home from school through dinner. I told her of my creation and she wanted me to make her some. I sprinkled craisins with hers too and she didn't ask for any food until dinner. LOL

A girlfriend and I were discussing this post today and she was telling me that steel cut oats or Scottish oats were better oats to eat than quick oats. So I did a little investigating and discovered how long it takes to prepare steel cut oats. Well...I went to the grocery store tonight because I didn't want to give up and not try this breakfast that Amy has posted, lol. I discovered this cereal http://www.lechoixdupresident.ca/FoodAndRecipes/GreatFood/ProductDetails.aspx/id/18490/name/PCBlueMenuMultiGrainInstantOatmealCinnamonSpice/catid/176 and got excited. I bought it, along with bananas, and now I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow, lol.

Bev-that looks good!

Y'all need to remember also that this isn't 'candy sweet' tasting. It is just sweetened enough to make the oatmeal interesting. LOL Dd likes a full teaspoon of brown sugar in hers.

Let me know if any of you like it and remember to drink water with it.

Well apparently I picked up the plain, not cinnamon flavoured :grimace:. I did cut some banana up in it and I added about a 1/2 tsp. of brown sugar. It was okay. I should have remembered to drink water with it, lol. Let's see how long I can go without feeling hungry.
