I am in a great mood this morning although the house is a sty and there is no food in the house. LOL We are getting our garage doors in today and that will be the end of the exterior house makeover, except for the hardscaping and landscaping. Hopefully, that will start in Spring in phases.

Ugh...need sleep. Baby's still on Pittsburgh time.

Good for you for being in a good mood despite the mess! The only way I can do that is if I leave the house! ;)

Getting back into the swing of things here. Need to clean and do laundry.

Oh! We got our puppy yesterday! She's a Miniature Schnauzer, she's so sweet and adorable...and good! Nice combination of playful/crazy and mellow/cuddly. She's 11 weeks old and her name is Ceili (pronounced "Kay-lee"--it's a Gaelic word). Ds is SOOOO happy!

-15 below here today... burrr :nervous: Needless to say, I'm not going over to walk my mom's dog until it warms up a bit... if it does. :)

I decided to reorganize all of my closets... so I'm starting upstairs and working my way down. There not too bad... everything is packed neatly in bins, but I can't even remember what is in most of them... so I'll be going through all of those and tossing out or giving away everything we no longer need/want. I'm already wondering why we kept some of the things we did... Ugh. Actually... I think I'll save some of it for a Garage Sale this spring.

I might meet a friend for lunch... not too sure if I want to venture out in the cold. Staying home where it's nice and warm somehow makes more sense to me. I'm thinking that maybe I'll invite her over here for lunch... then I won't have to go out.

Not much else. I hope you all have a great day!

Amy... yeah about getting your garage doors. Which ones did you decide to get?

Ann, good luck!
Mickey, congrats on the new pup.
Amy, I'm in the same boat as you. Need to clean the house and get groceries this weekend.

It's a toss up right now on what to do today, buy snacks for kids lunches or, ugh, bake! LOL I should bake, maybe I will then I don't have to go far.
ER tonight. A friend is supposed to stop by sometime today to drop off some stuff she has for me. It's all tiki kind of stuff that she had got a few years ago for a rehearsal party for her ds. I may be able to use some of it around our dj table for Caribbean night.
Hope you all have a good day :)

Ds2 is home sick today, so things will be rather quiet. :) Dd1 is working and ds1 and dd2 will be at mil's until around noon. Since ds2 is sick we won't be able to have care group kids here tonight (can I just say :yippee:  ). We're looking for another family to host the kids. That's about it for my day.

Ann, I hope this job is all you've been hoping for!

{{{Renee}}}

Vea, sounds like you've been *too* busy! 8o

Amy, congrats on the house accomplishments!

Mick, post a pic of the pup! Dh and I almost came home from our honeymoon with a min-schnauzer!

.Diane, stay in where it's warm.
.

Ugh... doesn't look like that's going to happen. :) I got a call from my mom, her dog had a bad night with his back last night so were taking him to the vet. I just went outside to make sure my car would start (it did) and to scrape the ice off my car windows... ugh 8o 8o it's FREEZING out there. I'm sooo ready for spring!

Got him there and back... they gave him a cortisone shot, so he'll at least feel better. Mom's suppose to help him up the stairs for about a month to help his injury heal. She's had him on a diet and he's lost 2-1/2 pounds... so that should also help. Now... I'm staying in for the rest of the day. :)

GOOD LUCK... I hope you get it!!!

not sure i want it! LOL

actually ended up interviewing for 3 management positions and 2 supervisor ones! LOL
lots of nights and weekends involved initially.
the gal who interviewed me would be great to work with but she is leaving. i am going to meet with the general manager either saturday or monday.
i have two other interviews tomorrow. one for a secretarial job, but they are also have a job listing for a part time personal assistnt job that i am interested in.
the other interview isn't really for a job opening now, more of a 'let me meet you and if we have an opening and i like you, i will call you'.

AnnW

well, she just called, i have an interview with the GM on Monday.

That was fast, you must have made a fantastic impression. Is this an event job? Those are definitely nights and weekends, but its fast paced and fun.

guess i did! LOL we really seemed to click, it's a shame she is leaving.

yes and no. one is more front of the house/customer/members management position and the others is the activities manager position, that one is more event.
it's not so much that the events are particularly at night or weekends, it's more that the club is open till 10 pm. managers rotate their hours to so they are covering all shifts. it's also maybe 45-50 hours/week.

I am assuming this is salary right? What kind of place is it exactly? I thought it was an event place, but it sounds more club house. If it is a club house, then what is the club?

the department head position is salaried, the assistant and supervisor positions are hourly and the event manager one is base plus commission

it's Life Time Fitness http://www.lifetimefitness.com/
pretty awesome place..spa, cafe, all the health club stuff.
this one is about 30 minutes away. they are building one about 5 minutes away that will open next fall i think.

ooooohh! My kind of club! Free workouts and getting paid. LOL I think you would be brilliant as an event manager. You are doing sales, plus your effort will pay off in commission. You would be perfect for charming the pants of someone by getting them to go more upscale in their choices. LOL

LOL...i am hoping the gal was wrong on the potential income of the commission job (this wasn't her direct dept) cause the 'potential' was good but not what i usually think of when they say potential LOL
i just need to nail down how many weekends and how many nights till 10 they are talking about
d*mn all these great jobs coming my way that have sh*tty hours!!!

Good luck with the job, Ann.

I have heard nothing but good things about LifeTime Fitness. They are the ones that hosted the 5K I ran. We will most likely be getting a family membership to them at some point in the future. They have everything there, and I love that it's open 24/7.

Reading along here and thinking they sound good except for the hours and found this reply very funny for some reason (I'm not very personable at that hour either)!

Good luck to you...the part-time personal assistant job sounds good to me--the hours are probably normal ones (no nights and weekends). I think 50-hour weeks would be really tough.

thankfully, the latest i would have to be is 10 pm..which is late enough!
i was hugely impressed with the place. i was practically a country club but with fitness equipment rather than a golf course!
