Who is taking them? and which ones are you taking....

Ummm...bought them, took 2, and then forgot! I have the hardest time developing the habit. I have a hard time with remembering prescriptions, too. Thank goodness they are a very rare thing for me. Dd and I both lack calcium in our diets, and winter produce is blah (at least the taste--the price is AAAAAAAH!!).
Thanks for reminding me, Renee.

Dh and I both take a Centrum each morning. (Just the basic Complete multivitamin.) If I am getting a cold, I take extra vitamin C.

Dks both take a multivitamin, too. Just a chewable type.

Cathy, we both need to be taking at least 1200 mg of calcium a day since we have no ovaries. i keep forgetting to take mine.

i take ALA, B12, Zinc, Vit D, Calcium and Centrum Silver Multi (no iron cause of thyroid)

Aaah, I still have ovaries. But I know I need calcium. I also have a history of low iron--the Red Cross has refused my blood many times. I'm trying to be better about getting the nutrients I need. Weight has been a non-issue, and I do splurge on foods sometimes. But for the most part, "good" foods appeal to me. My mom really raised us to eat a good variety of healthy foods.

I had to wait until I got home to look to see what brand I take. I take a One-a-Day for adult women. Ds takes a chewable Centrum for adults . I also take a Caltrate 600D when I remember to buy them

if it's got iron in it, don't take it when you take your thyroid meds. the thyroid meds won't absorb well with iron.

I took my vitamins last night!! Thanks for the prompting! I also took ginko biloba for better brain function. I'll let you know how it works, lol.

Good to know and very true! I was actually told to take they thyroid completely on its own. I used to take it with all my other vitamins and it was a problem (my thyroid levels fluctuated).

I am supposed to take a lot of supplements (since my gastric bypass), but have been forgetting like crazy because I'm trying to change the time I take them (was taking them before bed and they were making me sick).

).

thyroid meds are supposed to be first thing in the am, on an empty stomach and an hour before dairy for the best absorbtion.
i take mine sublingually (under the tongue) and that increases my absorbtion incredibly.

We all take a multi vitamin and vitamin C. I am supposed to take B12 and Calcium and forget. I don't do well with remembering, it's usually dh handing them out in the morning. I rely on him to remind me of prescriptions at night too because I forget.

Even with half a thyroid, I have never been prescribed any thyroid medication, hence the FAT problem...all my test show I don't have anything wrong with it...oh except it grows nodules....and oh that goiter, back in 2001....

well, if you are not taking thyroid meds you wouldn't need to worry about iron conflicting with them, would you? ;)

does your doc know that the levels have changed? my doc likes to keep me at 1-1.6...i like to be at .09 (i go hyper then and lose weight easily! LOL)

well, i don't know, can you? ;)
armour works well, do does synthroid. the generic didn't work so well, it was grainy. just test and see if they dissolve.

i did a quick google and most of the time they are talking about taking armour this way, but says it doesn't hurt with both. try it.

you haven't heard of Armour Thyroid? It's the natural thyroid medication versus synthroid which is synthetic thyroid, hence the name synthroid. synthroid is only T3 (or T4, i forget which), but Armour is both. The theory behind just taking T3 (or T4) is that if you boost it, it will help you body convert the other. My doctor doesn't completely buy into that theory so he thinks you need a little of both.
I know I felt 1000% better when we added in the Armour

So I can get Armour in the health food store? How will I know how much to take. Ok, I'd better do a search I think...
