I am dropping the kids off at Grandma's for an overnight this morning!!:yippee: Their cousins live next door and are the same age as the kids, so that will help release some of their energy.:crazyroll

I totally plan on getting this house scrubbed down. The carpets need to be re-cleaned since the dog's cyst broke open. He is doing much better, but the floors give me the eebies geebies. I really like coming home from vacation and have the house clean and in order.

You leave Thursday, right, Amy? How long are you going to be gone?

back to real estate school. should 'seem' easier today since yesterday we went till 6:30 and today it's only till 3:30.

at the doc yesterday, he thinks ds' is having alot of acid because his throat was really red which is kind of the first time anyone has ever said that. there were times they 'thought' there might be some acid, but there were never any real signs. he's on Prevacid now ($150 without insurance..is that a sign????) but i heard him throwing up earlier this am. hoping he feels well enough for school.

Holy cow!!! 8o 8o 8o Is there no otc acid reducer he could take??? Is this one that he has to take for awhile before he can tell a difference, or does it work right away. I'm sorry that he's throwing up again, but it's good that they saw a cause for it this time. (((HUGS)))

Amy, I'm envious!!! :D

I don't know what this day holds, except preschool for ds2 and schoolwork for the older kids. Blah.

Ugh....we had Ava on prevacid for a while. It was still $60 with insurance, for us anyway.

How do they know the redness just isn't caused by irritation from him vomiting?

I've got my final day of PT for my knee today. She says my knee is looking really good (knock on wood). I'm extremely sore in my chest and triceps from fitness testing yesterday in camp. I think it will only get worse after today's camp. She worked us hard. It sure feels good though, to finally get back to exercising!

Speech therapy comes today for Ava. My mom is also coming for the day. It's been a while since she's been here, so the kids are really excited.

Have a great day, all!

I've had a rough couple of days. Thursday I was feeling badly for a distraught student who was evicted from res (totally his own fault, selling pot to support his coke habit). Friday I came into work to hear about a stabbing that took place in one of our residences. Friday after work we learned that the computer for our car doesn't have a ship date until the 22nd! I called Sat. a.m. and got us a loaner. Friday night I pulled a neck muscle doing my weights and it pained me all weekend to the point where I couldn't sleep or change positions from the pain Sunday night. All day yesterday it hurt. I took two Tylenol 3's last night when I couldn't sleep and they didn't help. I felt like I was going to pass out from pain this a.m. as I was getting ready for work...I had to sit down for 10 minutes and then for a minute off and on after standing upright for extended periods, lol. I'm at work now and my co-worker kindly massaged my shoulder/neck and I feel a bit better. I think I might try to get into a massage therapist later today.

On the up side...I got a really cute 2-piece bathing suit for a really great sale price on Sunday, as well as some new jeans and comfy pants. I think I might go back for another swim suit and more comfy pants...the prices were unbelievable.

Of course... :newwink: going over to my mom's to walk the dog. :) It's cold :nervous: again. It probably wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so windy. When I get back from her house I'm going to tackle the kitchen. My ceiling fan and the top of the refrigerator needs to be dusted, floors/cabinets scrubbed. I also need to take the levolor blinds down and get those cleaned. Amazing how the dust can accumulate on them things. I like how they look, but they're sure a PITA. Hoping to get back into my book, it took me a looong time to finally get into it... (new author) but it's finally starting to interest me. LOL American Idol later... can't wait.

I hope you all have a great day!

Where did you find such a great deal on the swim suits? (dd is looking for one)

Ann, didn't one of the docs ever send ds for an upper GI series? That would show what is happening in the stomach if there is acid. If not, ask for one to be done. Having acid come up like that for long periods of time (over years I'm sure, but if it's not treated) can do some big time damage on the esophagus.
Amy, lucky you. I would love to send the kids for the day to get some stuff done. It will feel great to have it done before you leave!
Bev, hope you get into the massage therapist and feel better soon.
Beth, glad your knee is feeling better.

Kids had yesterday off (Family Day, new holiday here). We took them sliding at the park. Today ds2 has a full day of skiing. Ds1 goes after school. I have bowling tonight. Hope I get a nap in, ds4 slept horribly last night. Kids are off school again on Friday for PD day. lol short week :)

Go, Amy!
Ouch, Ann! That's expensive. I hope it helps him!
Sorry you're hurting, Bev! Great about the new clothes, though!
Glad your knee is getting better, Beth!

Off to see an IMAX movie (Antarctica) with the home schoolers. Then to my new doc for my eye (which is just about better now  ). Laundry. I have to get all these clothes washed. I plan to donate a lot of them and want them gone!

That's if for us.

Home from work and dinner is done. I need to wash the dishes and do some homework. An update on my friend's dh- he's still in ICU, having surgery about every other day now. No news yet on when he will be sent back to the states but when they go they will be leaving for good. :bawling: I cried like a baby today with her. She's actually older than my mom. I love her like a mom and she's such a good person and friend. I'm really going to miss her. It makes me so sad. I'm so sad that they are having go leave this way. They were going to retire in a year and a half.

he has been scoped more than any 18 year old should ever have to be! that's one thing they have been monitoring very closely. that's what is interesting about this time showing the irritation/damage.

Shouldda said surprise party stuff I guess.
Just making lists of what to get and how to decorate, etc.
I've never felt so disorganized about a party before and it's because I can't talk about it! lol

I made buttons today that said "I kept the secret" for everyone to have and I got the paper goods. I'm doing cupcakes and an ice cream bar. I bought plastic martini glasses for the ice cream; I'll put a cupcake and glass on each plate and they can fix up the ice cream with toppings.
(cuts down on bowls of soupy ice cream... nasty)

Finally decided on a color theme: pink and lime green. Gonna get some fabric and make a banner that says HB ___ and put over the mantle - might get some tulle for bunting.

Thought I might do a photo area in the playroom. Put my digital camera on a tripod and let them take goofy pics of themselves for favors.

Oh, got the balloons and a helium tank. Just have to get ribbon tomorrow.

Sorry you asked? :)
