another laundry soap question...

Have you ever noticed that if you buy a box or bottle of soap that says "42 loads" you NEVER actually get that many loads out of it? Does that happen to anyone else or just me? Mine always ends up short some how.

I guess I have never really kept track. I never fill the cup to the top line though, so I think mine usually lasts longer...?

I tried actually counting the loads I got out of a box of Tide once (which is the detergent I always use) and didn't get 42 uses like the box read -- and I don't fill the scoop up to the top, either. Then I read the box where it tells how much to actually use, and it is only about 1/2 of the scoop they put in the box. I think it is a marketing trick -- for people like me who don't watch closely how much detergent they are scooping up!!!!
