The brakes are so bad on the van I don't dare go anywhere today and it's raining so it'll be worse. Dh is going to replace them on Friday since he isn't working. I did get some Easter shopping done yesterday and ds4's birthday presents. Need to get the groceries but I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow night when dh is home and I can use the truck. Can't go tonight, he has euchre.
So maybe I will be able to get a pile of work done today in the house. Calling for rain all day. Hope you all have a good day :)

Going over to my mom's early to walk the dog, meeting dd #3 for lunch... and then she needs to go to Target. She's got a 15% off coupon for Kohl's... so were going there after. I need to find a pair of brown or tan colored pants to match a shirt I bought there last week.

Dawn's dropping Sarah off at 4:00, were picking my mom up after dh gets home from work shortly after... then taking her to Target to pick up her meds. Back home to watch Moment of Truth, then the AI results. Hard to say who's going off tonight because I don't think any of them (maybe except David A) did that hot. I think they, some of them anyway, did better than what Simon said they did. :) Not much else going on. Hope you all have a good one. :)

Hope you get your breaks fixed soon, Mel. I seems I want to go even more when I know I can't... :) Hate when my car isn't working... :) Hope you get your pile of work around the house done. :newwink:

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to drive dh to work tomorrow and take his truck because ds4 is supposed to get his pics done tomorrow afternoon. I would like them done and have them by his party. :) I have to get groceries and Saturday won't cut it. I hate being without my own car, it always ends up being when I need one! lol

Mel, be safe and don't take any unnecessary chances with your car.
Renee, enjoy serving today. Do you know how long the trial will be. Usually around here they are pretty short. We've had a murder trial over in one day here.
Ann, enjoy the girl time with dd.
Diane, have fun with Sarah. Man since ds and dil moved to town I only get to see dgs at school and dgd occasionally. I don't keep them after school any more. I'm having withdrawals!
Taking the day off today. Went to take dgs to school, then stayed long enough to have class group pictures taken with my class. Bad day for pics. A fourth of my class didn't make it in because of closed roads. Even met one bus running incredibly late when I was headed home.

Home for a bit to check in here, then back out into this never ending rain for a doctor's appt. Been having some chest "pain" in the early morning hours. Not so much pain as an incredible uncomfortable feeling. It is so bad it wakes me up and I have to get out of bed. Since my dad had his first heart attack at 50, I thought I might better get a check-up. He said he thought he was just having a bad case of indigestion and drove himself to the hospital. He was having a heart attack! Anyway, say a quick prayer that everything checks out.

My yard looks like a lake. We have a long driveway and sit up on a bit of a hill, but the water is now pooling at the end of the drive by the 2nd garage. All the new mulch dh put in the flower beds before he left is floating away. Calling for a glimpse of the sun by the end of the day and hopefully all this will clear out of here.

Be safe, Mel!
Enjoy the rodeo and show, Ann!
Have a good day on the jury, Renee!
Diane, enjoy your evening with Sarah and your mom!
Praying all goes well with your appointment, Kat! Glad you're having yourself checked out!

Co-op starts today and MB is taking Woodworking and Ancient Civiliztions. Then he has a private Kung Fu lesson.

That's it for us!

Have a great one!

Oh no chances with my van. :) Going to take the truck tomorrow so dh will either have me drive him or he'll have to rent a car for me. lol

Prayers for the chest pain. Let us know what the doc has to say. Could it be heartburn? I have a gas reflux and if I forget my pill the day before I wake with it.

If the water is pooling in your driveway is there a chance of getting stuck? Maybe you could put some boards over it? I'm very curious to see how high the water comes up this year by the river that goes through town.

Kat, I hope your chest pains turn out to be nothing serious. Good decision going to the doc.

Dd1 is still sick, going on 7 days now. I took her to the doc again yesterday. They did another strep test and this time it came back negative, so the penicillin shots got rid of that. She's still having high fevers though. They aren't sure what is causing them, her doc sent us to the hospital yesterday to get blood work done.

They did a rapid mono test, and a long mono test. The rapid one came back negative, but sometimes it doesn't show positive until the long test results come back. Her WBC and platelets were within normal range. This is just weird. So far nothing explains her having 103+ temps. She will be so upset if she misses all the Easter stuff we do with family, but it's looking as if she will.

Had to cancel PT today for Ava again. Nothing major planned today, just usual housework.

Have a great day, all!

Back from the doctor. She did an ekg which was fine (but just indicates no heart attack yet), she also drew blood and was going to set me up with a cardiologist for a stress test. They haven't called back yet to confirm when I go in. She put me on an asprin regime. Not sure at this point what other tests she may order. She's thinking there may be some kind of blockage. I guess will take it a test or two at a time.

Also ended up having the dreaded pap smear and got set up for a mammogram. I couldn't believe it had been nearly 2 years. I've always been good to do that yearly. Not sure how I lost track. Might be that I haven't seen Aunt Flo in 18 months so I haven't given female issues much thought.

Went to Wal-mart after my appt. and ran into everybody under the sun. My dad, bil, son, and a host of old friends from our former church I hadn't seen in years. I guess they all do their shopping while I'm working. I stopped on 2 seperate occasions and talked with 2 old friends for about 15 minutes each. Thought I might never get out of there. Got the groceries put up, had a late lunch of grilled steak with horseradish (yum), asparagus, and a baked potato. Ds was thrilled. Now he's off to work and I'm ready for a nap.

Ds said that they ended up with about a foot of water in their basement last night. A creek runs along their property line. They have a 3-car carport and a 2-car garage with a work room and a bathroom where a 3rd car would go. They use it as a play room for the kids. Alot of their toys/books were down there along with some boxes they were storing and hadn't unpacked from their move. Dil said she wasn't sure what all was still packed. They also had a piano down there and quite a bit of carpet they were storing. (Ds used to install carpeting before the company went out of business)

Too bad most of your class missed out on the class picture. :(

I'm glad you're getting it checked out, Kat... No sense in taking any chances. You never know... :( (Prayers being said, and please keep us updated)

oops... I guess I should have read ahead before posting. :) I hope all your tests come back negative and it's not a blockage. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. (((KAT)))

Bummer about the flooding... We use to have a leaky basement at our old house and we couldn't keep anything down there for fear of it getting ruined. I hope the piano and everything else that was good isn't too badly damaged. :grimace:

Kat, fingers crossed that your tests come back negative and that your pains stop.
Beth, sure hope your dd will kick that fever soon!

Worked, came home had lunch and fell asleep until the phone rang and woke me up an hour later. lol
Had a free dinner @ Moe's Southwest grill - a new one opened up nextdoor to Hallmark so we got coupons for a free "test" meal. All three of us ate and it was pretty good.

Been hanging out at home the rest of the night.
Dd's boyfriend called and when I answered he said "Heeyyy ______". I said "Heeeyyyy, this is _____'s mom! LOL" When he said we sounded just alike I told him "Cool! I love being 40 and sounding like a 12 year old!"

Kat, glad it wasn't a heart attack. Hope they find the source and it has nothing to do with your heart.

Angie, glad you got the shots. And that it was no big deal.
