MM! Buenos Dias ! Today I take my final exam for my summer class. I need to turn in my research paper, last lab report, and current event file. Just in time to help finish up with the remodels. lol. The past month has been crazy here with everything that has been going on. The masons completed the tile throughout the house along with all the treatments for the tile last Tuesday. Everything in my house was covered with a fine layer of dust, even things that were in closed closets and drawers. I couldn't do a thing with all the schoolwork I had. So starting tomorrow, the cleaning woman will be here to help me get my house back in order. We have to repaint the entire house inside and out. We still have things to do to the kitchen, living room and bath before I can unpack from the states. I could go on and on about all the things that are still not done, but the main thing is that the floor looks fabulous!!!!!! I couldn't be happier. We went way over budget on it but it was soworth it. HH hit the lottery 2x's this past month so we bought a gorgeous new front door with a stained glass inlay. I have to go stencil shopping this afternoon for the living room and schoolroom. We're almost there!!!!! Have a grand day! ßß!

Good luck on your final! Congratulations to you for finishing the course. Doesn't that feel great?! The house is more frustrating, as there's always something else to do, but I'm glad you like the progress so far. Have a great day, and don't forget to celebrate the completion of all the schoolwork...for now, anyway.

Good luck on your final and on your continuing remodeling projects. All of the hardwork and frustration will be worth it in the end! :)

MM! Ann, we installed new Italian tile throughout the house. It's a terricotta style with a raised pattern, shaded with terricotta colors and what looks like rubbings of white and verdigris. It's 18" square. We had to have the previously existing floor (italian tile) removed and have the floor re surfaced to install the new tile.
We also had the marquesina retiled as well and the driveway done in italian tile that looks like natural stone, terricotta colors to match.
The bathroom has a different italian tile, still 18" but a cream with terricotta color veins. That one is glazed and didn't need to be acid washed or sealed.
It wasn't what we had planned, but we went tile shopping and I fell in lve with this tile. It's beautiful.
ßß!

Sounds absolutely beautiful!!!! I wish we had tiled more of our house than just the entry.
What is a marquesina?

MM! A Marquesina is sort of a combonation, semi enclosed patio area and family room. It has walls, sometimes windows (equivelant to a screen porch) but mainly it's open on two sides. I believe it's the spanish rendition of a veranda. ßß!
