(Even though it doesn't feel like it to me.) :)
No plans here. I wasn't up to entertaining the families this year, so no one is having an Easter meal that I know of. We may go visit the parents or just stay home and rest. We had a hard 10K training day yesterday so we are moving slow. lol
Enjoy a peaceful day, ya'll.
:bunny: Happy Easter!
DH is still sleeping, and dks are with their other parents. I'm hoping to go to an 11am or 11:30am church service, then out for brunch. We'll see. Every restaurant will be packed, so we might decide not to brave the crowds. The House of Blues in Dallas has a gospel brunch that I'd really like to go to, so we'll se if DH is up for that around 2:30pm. :butterfly

HAPPY EASTER!! http://bestsmileys.com/bunny/2.gif
Going out for a quick breakfast, then going over to walk my mom's dog. We'll be going over to my sister's house for Easter. I've got to make the Green Bean Casserole. I was going to make it in the crockpot but someone said it would get too mushy, so I decided to do it in the regular oven. (then maybe transfer it into the crockpot before we leave) We don't have to be there until 3:00... so we've got most of the day to ourselves.
Not much else going on. I hope you all have a good day!
just didn't feel like getting up for the sunrise service. so i am going to the contemporary service at 11. that's my favorite service. i am not sure who is coming with me. :(
dad's wife called and wants us to come over around 4 so the kids can get their Easter baskets. she needed to know if we could come right away cause she was going out to get the stuff.
i am not feeling it either. It has just really struck me how much my family has changed. The kids don't want to deal with sm after the debaucle at Christmas, my cousins can't stand her so they don't invite us over to their stuff cause they feel bad about leaving daddy out. dh stopped going to church with me along time ago, kids aren't consistant and i quess i did a bad job in teaching them that it's important...it just sucks.
Don't lose your hope and faith on Easter of all days Ann! :\
I decided to read out of the children's bible to refresh dd and teach ds about the importance of Easter. We don't regularly attend a church, but I wanted the lesson to be affective. Ds wasn't in the mood for a teaching, but I made him sit. I was reading the story about the Cruxification. As much as I thought ds wasn't going to pay attention, he was sobbing. Then after reading about Easter we talked about everything and I think they really felt it. It made my day that I could reach them better than any Sunday school. LOL It just shows you can have moments of grace anywhere.
Happy Easter all!

Good Morning!
B was up off and on all night and then for an hour or so around 3:30. Fed her peas and cereal and she went back to sleep.
Up and found the Easter Baskets.
Ds is going off with his friend for a few days at some point today--his friend used to live here and moved to Tennessee, but comes to visit his grandma here and ds is going to their house and off to Tahoe to ski.
We're going to have dinner at my friend's house around 3 (not sure if ds will be with us by that time).
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

WOW, interesting I was just posting the same thing, we also don't attend church regularly anymore, but DH got our the children's bible after DS said he knew what Christmas was really about, but he wasn't really sure exactly what Easter was a out....so we too re-read, and DD cried when he was reading about the crucification....it was powerful....
Hang in there Ann, "different ages, different stages!"
Made coffee and watched the kids find the hidden easter eggs through out the living and dinning room...most of them have coins in them...
We are eating here today, no family gatherings for us either :bunny: ....Dh and I talked it over with the kids and we are making a Traditional Italian dinner, homemade meatballs, sweet sausage, spaghetti, fresh homemade bread, tomato, basil, onion and fresh mozzarella salad  :licklips:
I helped dd clean out her room yesterday and well WOW, she is going to make a small fortune at the yard sale! :butterfly I still need to help ds, with his closet, but I am beat, I am just not able to sit on the floor for too long anymore it's just so uncomfortable!
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

what a special moment with your kids.
i never lose my faith in God..it's what keeps me going.
it's the hope that my family will ever be whole again that is shaky.

DD, DS, and DH aren't willing to "break bread" with you as a family? Have you shared your feelings with them?

I get that its more than a meal, I do.
Have you told them how you feel about not going to Church together and the sense of "the Family not being Whole anymore"?
or am I off base?

(((Ann))) Sounds like you need some mighty prayers! I've sent some for you.
Brichard woke up with a fever this morning, so I took the girls to church. Ds has a sinus infection so I left him at home too. I worked in the 5 year old room today and then went to lunch with a couple other families. That was really neat. Now we are home to just chill out and it's fabulous!
Happy Easter everyone!

Vea sounds like a lovely day, glad everyone got alone so well! :butterfly
Our Easter was nice, we watched a movie, ate a wonderful meal and then dd and I came into the master retreat to watch the sound of music, a little tradition dd and I started whenever its on, we watch! as the boys were out watching a movie and I realized that this was the first years in years that I didn't have any Easter lilies or an Easter Corsage (which I used to get my mother) got a little down.
I miss my mother and the family traditions of the past and then dd says to me, "what a wonderful Easter we had today mommy and I get you alone and "C" ge (DS) gets alone time with Daddy....
as she snoozes :sleep:on my pillow....I can sit here and stroke her hair and realize how much I Love that kid...just when I miss being the daughter, she reminds me how great being the MOMMY is
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

My Easter didn't start out real well. When we got to my sisters, and I was getting out of the car... the door bounced back and hit me in the forehead. I thought I was going to pass out, felt a little dizzy... recovered and I was fine. I got a little gash in my head, bled quite a bit... but thank God all is well. :)
We had a great afternoon visiting with my mom and two of my sisters and their families. Dawn/James and Sarah were the only ones on my side to make it... but we still had so much fun... and of course, way too much food. :grimace: I didn't eat that much much, but I'm still feeling pretty stuffed. I'm skipping my usual snack of popcorn tonight. :) There was a lot of noise and activity with the kids... so I'm pretty happy to be back home where it's nice and quiet... Dh and I snuggled up on the couch and watched the news when we got home... I almost feel asleep so decided I'd better get up and do something. Not quite ready for bed yet. :)
I hope you all had a HAPPY EASTER... :)

I'm sure I'll be fine. It happened hours ago and I haven't felt anything yet so... thanks. :)
I'll sure be more careful of that darn car door from now on though. :(

Glad everyone had a nice Easter.
(((Ann)))
Diane, glad you're O.K.
Went to church yesterday, came home to find fil and his wife at our house waiting. We said 4 and dinner at 5, what's 5 or 6 hours early? She really chipped in and helped me, which was great. I had to stop for a bit and visit with ds4's Godparents when they stopped in, nice visit. Easter was nice, dinner was great, good food and company. I can't believe my baby is 1 already! Watching him with the cake was a riot.
He woke up the night before after midnight so while I rocked him I kept softly singing 'happy birthday' to him until he zonked out again. Then we were all singing the song to him all day and he ate it right up. LOL I got his pictures back from the store, I can't wait to get them framed, too cute.
Very busy day here yesterday so today we are all just relaxing. :)
