I can't believe it's already 38 degrees... high's in the upper 40's so hopefully we'll loose a lot of this snow we got the other day. Until it snows again that is. I shouldn't complain, we've only gotten 37.8 inches of snow this winter, which isn't a whole lot... but any amount to me is too much. Last year on this day it was 75.
Walking the dog, doing the laundry I didn't get to yesterday. Hopeing to get some reading done... otherwise not much. Dh has to be at work early this morning. His boss has decided to quit the business and sell his book of business, which he has offered to dh. It's a big decision and a lot of $$, not too sure what were going to do. Lots to explore before making that big of a decision.
Better get my butt in gear. Hope you all have a great day!

I'm still working on the laundry pile althought I feel really good about the rest of the house. Dd#1 is already packed for the trip, so cute, she has all hers outfits together with little notes for which day she will wear them.
I'm hiding out at home today and letting everyone think I'm off on a field trip. I can't believe I did that, but I want to be left alone so I can get everything else completed.
Have a great day all!

Oh... too funny! You're always so busy doing things for everyone else... you deserve a little time to yourself, even if it is to do housework. :) I hope no one finds out your little secret. ;) LOL

good lord, if anyone deserves some time to herself, it's you.
don't feel badly at all!
I got to sleep in an hour extra today as I don't have to be to the court house until 8:30 am so I took advantage of it, I am having a Fresh pot of coffee while I let my hair dry naturally, and then I will dress for work since I am hoping to get there at some point today....
WW meeting tonight too and I have to say I don't feel like getting on the scale  PMS and I am bloated and just in a blah mood.
Angie I don't blame you for hiding out! You deserve time alone!
Ann enjoy your field trip.
Diane, did your dh ever hear anything about the job he interviewed for?
Amy are your kids out for spring :butterfly break?

Diane, that's quite the offer. Good luck with the decision making.
Angie, I hope you are not found out and you get everything you want done accomplished.
Doc appointment for ds4, ds3 and me. The baby is his 1 year check up, ds2 is a follow up for the blood infection he had. I made an appointment for myself over a month ago for one problem but a bigger one came up instead. :\ Dh is going to go with me so I don't have to explain things in front of ds3. Bowling late tonight. Hope you all have a good day :)

Ok, now do I lie and say how the field trip was, or say I ended up not going after all because they didn't need me? See what I've gotten myself into, lol.

Nope... as far as we know, they're still waiting for the lady who was suppose to retire, to actually leave/retire. :)
At this point, with this offer... I'm not too sure he'd take it if it were offered to him.

Ann, will send up the good impression vibes for dh! :)
Mel, hope you are okay honey.
Diane, good luck to your dh making that choice!
Just home from the Virginia Tech basketball game last night. They beat the pants off of UAB and are one win away from going to the NIT championships in NY!! :yippee:
It was wild!! A total blast! Dh and I took dd and a friend and left early Monday afternoon, putted around Blacksburg, ate and headed to the game. We had to get back earlier than my liking today, but turns out I have to work tonight, so it's a good thing we came home when we did.
Dh had a message from his office and he thinks they are going to ask him to commute from VA to Delaware for 6 months. :( Part of me knows not to pout b/c at least he's not military and out of the country (and in harm's way!), but part of me really doesn't want him to have to work like that. We'll see what happens tomorrow when he goes back to work.

Ugh...It has been a crazy week! Dd1's fever continued all through last week and into the weekend. Her flu and mono tests all came back negative. Her blood work was within normal ranges.
On Friday, her doc wanted to see her at 8:30am to check her for signs for a rare condition called Kawasaki Disease. She had mentioned it in her previous visit, but I just laughed it off inside. Her doc is fairly new out of residency and is always thinking outside the box re: medical conditions. I can appreciate that, except her mode of thinking lead us to the ER 6 times with Ava, costing us thousands of dollars, all for what turned out to be nothing. Well, this time her out of the box thinking rang (somewhat) true.
So we get there at 8:30am on Friday, after we literally rolled out of bed, threw on some clothes thinking we'd be back home in an hour. Her doc checks her out again for signs of Kawawaki disease. The only symptoms she has are high fever, bright red/swollen/cracked lips, and swollen lymph glands, which at this point had disappeared after treatment for the strep she had. She still isn't convinced that dd doesn't have it, so she sends us to the local hospital yet again for more blood tests.
While we're at the hospital, she calls us saying that immediately after the tests, we are to go into Dallas to see the cardiologist. Kawasaki disease affects your blood vessels, arteries, and heart if not treated, so to be safe, the cardiologist wanted to see her.
We get to the cardiologist's office at 11am. They do an EKG and an echocardiogram. One of her arteries was bigger than the other, and the size was at the absolute biggest size it can be before it crosses into the "abnormal" size. We also got her results back from the blood tests she had earlier that morning. The results were "iffy", so the cardiologist said we should treat her as if she has Kawasaki to be on the safe side. She sent us downstairs to eat while she made sure they had a pediatric bed available.
At 1pm, she was admitted to the hospital. Treatment for Kawasaki consists of IV gamma globulins, and aspirin therapy. Of course with our luck, they are extremely expensive, and have to be specially prepared by the Red Cross. They didn't get her hooked up to the IV until 8:30pm. It took 12 hrs to complete the IV and she had to take 8 aspirin at a time at various times throughout the night. They discharged her Saturday afternoon.
She has to go back to the Cardiologist for another EKG and ECG in 2 weeks, and then again at 8 weeks, and she has to take 1 aspirin a day for the next 6 weeks. If the artery shrinks, then we will know for sure she had Kawasaki Disease. If it doesn't shrink, then we can only assume that is how dd was born, but she still could have had the disease.
Our luck is incredible, but in the wrong areas. 1 in 800 births for down syndrome, and 19 out of 100,000 kids will get Kawasaki, but it mainly affects kids aged 1-5. So for dd to get it at age 11 is even rarer. But if we were to buy a lottery ticket every day for the rest of our lives, we would probably never win! LOL

Back from the doctor. We can go to once a month urinalysis for ds3 now and that's in office when she checks him over. Much better than dh having to drive out of his way every week to take it to a lab. So he looks good. Ds4 is on target but needs to cut back on the 'ba-ba's'. LOL Smaller bottles and very slowly we can introduce him to the whole milk (slowly because his stomach gets upset easy and he wakes in the night with cramps). I originally made the appt. for a gynie problem but that had to wait. Arms, hands and legs have been giving me a horrible time over the last month and it's only getting worse. She is sending me for nerve tests, thinking it's carpel tunnel. Hopefully the splints will work and I won't have to worry about surgery. And she is going to re-refer me to a new nuerologist who is affiliated with the hospital, last one wasn't. I go back in June for a full check up so the gynie thing will have to wait until then unless I want to make another appt. which I don't. lol
Thanks for the well wishes. :)

Thanks, everyone!
Angie, they don't know what causes Kawasaki Disease. Some believe it is caused by a specific agent (bacteria/virus), and some believe that it is just your body's reaction to infection (strep in dd's case). Too often it goes undiagnosed. I read it's the leading cause of acquired heart disease among young children in the US. Here's a link if you want to read more about it: http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic811.htm
