My cousin is moving to North Richmond Hills, TX. She has asked me to drive out there with her, so we can take turns driving, and I would have to fly back. Where is a good hotel that I can stay in, and where would the best place be to fly out of?

I have a sister that lives in North Richland Hills (if that's what you meant)?
You would fly out of Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) Airport. When is she moving?

She is moving at the end of April.... I am just trying to get an idea of how much it will cost. She could help pay some but neither of us have a lot of money. Her fiancee is driving too, but they are driving 2 vehicles, so if I went we could all switch up. That way everyone would have a chance to nap.
leigh, it's about a 1000 miles, so you need to figure the cost of gas. it's a hard one day drive, so you would need to decide if you were going to stop (probably in Baton Rouge or Shreveport depending on which way you go and where you start your turn north), so you would have a hotel expense.
Southwest is probably going to be your cheapest fair...do they fly into Jax? American is a hub at DFW so they might have a good rate too.
here is North Richland Hills' official website.

but what exactly would you be paying for? you are doing them a favor; why wouldn't they be paying all the gas and on the road expenses? she should even pay part of your airfare home, i would think.
North Richland Hills is a nice area, but there aren't a lot of great hotels over on that side. I did see a Best Western that would probably be fine for about $70 a night over by North East Mall (compared to the Gaylord Texan that you can get for about $150 a night).
You would fly out of DFW. SW Airlines flies out of Dallas Love Field, and you'd have to drive all the way down into Dallas.

I just found a one way ticket using Southwest from Dallas/Love Field to JAX for $100.50 total. I don't think you'll beat that price. I wasn't sure what day you'd want to fly out, but that price applies to leaving either April 28, 29, 30, or May 1. I'd be happy to pick you up and take you to Love Field if you need a ride.
I'm not understanding though why you need a hotel? Can you not stay with your cousin while you're in town? How long will you be in town?
Can you believe ATA flights are still coming up on Travelocity? I didn't see what happens when you try to purchase one of their flights, but for heaven's sake people......
If Beth's driving, DAL is the best bet. We should get together for a drink or something if you're here on a weekend. Weekdays are pretty busy for me (Baylor OCH therapists work 4 ten hour days and have Fridays off), but I might be able to pull something off.

They would pay for everything out there... I would have to pay for a hotel room and also the flight back. I would not have to pay for gas and road expenses except eats, and I think she would help pay for my way back. I mean they could do it on their own, so it isn't absolutely neccessary that I go, but they mentioned it to me, and I thought it might be a nice trip as well as a way to help them out.

Her and her fiancee are moving in with his mother until they get their own place. They are pretty much picking up and starting over. They have no jobs or housing in TX, just his family and a desire to get a way from situations going on here. His mother doesn't have enough room for me to stay as well, and I am not sure I would be comfortable staying with her anyway. It might be a tad awkward.
I appreciate your offer to help, and I might have to take you up on it.... I need to talk to my cousin again, and I will let you gals know.

Thanks all of you for all of your help.... I am going to talk to my cousin again this week and see what all we can get settled. I will let you know as soon as I know.
I also thought about waiting until she found a house and going to help them move from their in-laws into their own house...you know unpacking and everything. I could just fly out and back.
