Happy 4th everyone! :rwb:

My mom's dh is wanting to start up his own business in our area, building ponds. We are a small town, surrounded by several more small towns and he is needing advertising ideas. Something beyond the basics like advertising in the local paper, etc.

He's thinking of taking a portfolio around to the local builders and real estate agents (and possibly landscapers) to get the word out that way, but needs more ideas on how to get to the buyers.

Can you help us brainstorm??

I like the idea of taking his portfolio around. How about advertising in school directories or donating his service to a school fund raiser.

Can you do some kind of a mailing with a little bottle of water? A card that when you open it sounds like rushing water?

I would think that the landscapers would be a better target but many of them may build ponds too?

Signage brings something like 80% of real esate clients in. Can you get some signs to post at all the major intersections in your town/s?

We hadn't thought of the school directories! They also do advertising on the back of playbills (is that what they're called? the name popped into my head) at the plays somtimes.

I had no idea that signs brought in that much of the real estate clientelle. It makes sense though. You really made me stop and think, Angie, when you mentioned our major intersections! I'm a city girl and was thinking of stop lights and those are scarcer than hens teeth here! :D
