playroom ideas needed

I am getting ready for some major revamping of the boys playroom. They really don't have a need for all the toys in there anymore. They usually just play w/legos, army men, gameboy or computer. How do y'all configure a bigger kids playroom? We have a tv and vcr up there. I will be taking out the toy box, and little tikes desk. Any ideas on what has worked and hasn' t worked in your rooms would be appreciated. Zach is almost 9yo and Jay is 7yo. TIA

Hi! We just redid our extra bedroom into a playroom. My kids are older so they don't have alot of toys in there, but what they wanted to have was a book shelf for board games, puzzles and tapes. A big table to play board games, puzzles and do art work, the tv/vcr/nintendo, and comfy place to sit. DS also wanted his keyboard in there.
Our computer used to be on a rectangular card table so I moved that into the playroom for their art and stuff. I got them each a bean bag chair (which btw..those things have really gone up in price!!:{ ). Then I have the tv on a cabinet.
The kids and I are getting ready to paint it a bright yellow, and we are going to paint a velcro target game on one wall.
The furniture is kind of set up against walls or on corners so and added benefit is that there is floor room for sleep overs AND for me to do work out tapes!!! I love it, I even gave up membership to my gym.

Ann-thanks for your ideas. I like the idea of a big table. I hadn't thought of that. The boys are always doing art projects so that would help. I wondered about bean bags or futons. We have an old daybed from my grandma's house in there and it works ok. Its just kind of old and ugly.:\ I have their games in brightly colored crates but they just look too young for them. Did you just get a regular sized bookshelf for the games?
I am excited and sad about this change. When we added on to our house we envisioned a room that would become their hangout as they got older-I am just not sure I am ready for them to get older quite so quick. :\
