Just got dd1 off to band camp. Her friend's parents are driving her since they have family in Louisiana to visit while they are there. Her brother is gonna miss her something fierce!

Workers come today to put in the tile backsplash. I can't wait to see it done! I've only seen sketches of it. I sure hope it turns out well.

No plans otherwise today. We'll just hang out and play.

Have a great day, all!

Beth~ I give you credit I could not do all that at once.

These dogs are driving me nuts...The Yellow lab that I thought would have a problem is doing good. The little one (beagle mix) is always under foot and whinning...Just starting to calm down.

We finally slept through the night.

I'm sooo tired though.

Anyway have a good day!

No big plans but I do need to get to the store because it's the last day of the sale I wanted to get to for meats. Some laundry needs to be done and hopefully today I can get back to sorting in ds4's bedroom. I keep getting pulled away once I start. I think his tummy is upset right now, he was holding it and threw up a tiny bit of milk out of his nose this morning in bed so all plans may be shot. Tried to sit still with him on the outside swing but he was wiggling everywhere but is now being quiet watching a baby show so we'll see.
Our niece is coming to stay with the kids tomorrow night while we go to Blues Fest and see Great Big Sea. I am so looking forward to it, going with a few friends and it should be a great night out. Hopefully this is a passing thing with ds4.
Have a good day all :)
Beth, how long is your dd gone to camp for?

I wish I were still at the beach! It's been nothing but overcast and stormy since we've been home. Grrrr!

Taking dd to the golf course here shortly, then back here to meet a girlfriend of hers and have her for the day; we'd hoped to do the pool, but it doesn't look good for that.

Beth, what are the plans for the backsplash? I must have missed it. Love your photos! I could move right in to your home, when would be a good time for me to arrive? ;)

Dh's morning to leave early (networking meeting) I've already gotten the shrubs trimmed... still have a bit of picking up from that to do but not much left. I want to move the living room furniture around. Right now I have the couch in front of the picture window... but the cat has been laying/sleeping on the pillow and it's so full of fur and is loosing it's shape  so I need to do something about that. If it's not in front of the window she doesn't lay/sleep on it... so hopefully she'll find a new place to lay/sleep. Right now we can hardly sit on it, unless you don't mind getting full of fur. :( I'm suprised she's not naked considering all the fur she leaves on the couch.

Jumping in the pool/doing my workout, then going to a few yard sales. My mom's got an appointment for Bruno (her dog) to get his hair clipped at 1:00... I just hate when she schedules it for the middle of the afternoon. I've always told her to make her appointments as early in the morning as possible. I like to get them done/over with... ;) but she said that Mary Ann, the girl who usually clips him, won't be there until 1:00. Janet (IMHO) does a much bettere job could do it first thing, but mom said Bruno LIKES Mary Ann better, and didn't want to upset him. 8o Talk about a spoiled dog??? I don't know what were going to do while the dog is getting clipped... If I had my way I'd just pick him up and take him in myself, then pick him up after he's done... but mom see's it as an opportunity to get out of the house. ;) Oh well...

Not much else. I hope you all have a great day!

She will be back on Monday. It's just a weekend camp, but they will be visiting her friends relatives a day before and a day after.

LOL....come on over! The more the merrier.

The backsplash will consist of 2"x4" tumbled travertine blocks that frame a center mosaic area (bronze colored) that will sit above the cooktop.

Here are some links to the tiles:

We will be using the tela, coppia, and linea.

Morning everyone... I am going to my writing /self esteem class today. I have to get there a little early because the counselor/teacher is going to go over my resume with me and see if I can spice it up some. Other than that, I have nominated myself to teach tonight, but I won't know if I get those hours until an hour before each session begins, so I guess I will be hanging around the house. Have a great day everyone.

Oh that sounds kinds like the area behind my kitchen sinks. The previous owners hung a mirror there, and we didn't know what else to do with it, so we left it.

We've had short light showers in the late afternoon the past two days. It's great because I haven't have to water the flowers, but the backyard still seems to be dying even though the sprinkers come on every day.

It's hard to say what was done around here. The previous owners knew they were losing the house, so they let a few things go.

Well, the construction issues have started already. Dh called this morning and the site prep guy and the septic guy are not in agreement. *sigh* So... I had to print off a pdf that dh emailed home and take it out to fil who was already on site. He'll give it to the site prep guy when he gets there. I knew we'd have problems... but not with every step of the way, lol! The easiest part so far (surprisingly enough) was getting the building permit.

It's raining here and is supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow. Normally that would be great, but I have to take a friend to Tucson for doc appts and there will be a lot of in and out of the car. I think I need to change out of my white shirt, LOL! Didn't quite think that wardrobe choice through.

I hope you all have a great day! :)

THAT discribes my dh to the T. ;) He would never forget to fertilize, and even with our lack of rain, our lawn is the greenest and the best looking in the neighborhood.

Beth, I'm totally envious! Your home is beautiful. What I wouldn't give for that space. I so want a bigger house, but dh questions why since all kids will be gone in a year. Ds#2 is building credit and saving money and hopes to buy a house next year.

Diane, did you catch my furniture rearrangement bug? Good luck. I remember before I developed my cat allergy our cat would sit on the sofa in the den because it was by the window. It was awful.

Speaking of cats. We have a code red flea infestation because of the kittens in the garage. We set off bug bombs yesterday, but when the gbs came by earlier when we went through the garage to ride bikes on the driveway we all had fleas jump all over us. Dh went to get more bombs and some spray. We got rid of all the kittens. Yippee! He's going to re-bomb later when I go shopping.

I'm heading to Hobby Lobby after dinner to shop for supplies for making a diaper cake for dil's baby shower. Other than that I've been a slug today.

Ds is 19 going on 30. He has a good job and works full time and saves most of it.

No, I'm not making the cake. I had posted on the "Help with baby shower" post that I'd shown the picture to a friend who had made a diaper cake before and she's agreed to make it for me.
