View Full Version : What are your Short term goals?

I have started back into a exercise routine, with walking and some elliptical work...I am going for short term goals right now...not even about loosing weight at this point its all about establishing a routine again...just about getting 5 - 6 days of exercise in per week, once I can establish a routine I can really get myself back into shape...

WW worked well enough, lost 15 pounds and kept off 12 so far, but the $39.95 per month was taking a toll especially since I wasn't getting anything from the meetings anymore, I am still working the program, just not shelling out the $.

I am in need of movement, working full time doesn't make it easy....so now that Fall is almost here, I figure no time like the present to get the walking routine back into shape.

Care to share your struggles and success?

I'm trying to exercise more and eat less junk. I don't want to set any goals for the moment as far as losing pounds, which is what I usually do. I had lost some weight in the spring, but I've gained probably 30 pounds since March. I'd like to look better, but what motivates me more is seeing older people who are so out of shape they can't even move. I have an "interview" with Easter Seals tomorrow. Hopefully that will work out. They're only looking for someone T/TH, so I can start attending exercise classes at the gym again on my off days. The core and sping classes are really good for me. I try to do step classes, but honestly even the simplest choriography challenges me. I'm also toying with the idea of doing another half marathon, but the one I'm looking at is the Big D in April, and training doesn't begin for that until November.

Immediate short term - get off of here, take off church clothes, get dressed and start housework. Or go rent a movie.

Get focused for the new school year, and be supportive as ds adjusts to the high school.

Eat less...move more. Same ole things!

Now that summer is over, I have MUCH less free time! While that is good (less t.v. etc) it's bad because our meals tend to be less healthy! Ugh.

Get my catering menu together for a musical group coming to our church, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. If you watched you may have seen them on TV recently, as they were a top 3 finalist on Fox's "The Next Great American Band." I'm so excited about it!

Second immediate short term goal; make it through my first day back at work tomorrow.

Not to eat junk foods and fast foods. :)

And to have a reduced diet. :D
