Urgent prayer request

Dh is on his way to Tucson. A friend of ours, T, called tonight, suicidal. T's cell phone cut out and now dh can't get a hold of him. Please pray that our friend won't follow through on his threats and that dh has wisdom in dealing with the situation.

Prayers said. It probably is a good sign that he called. "They" say if you're telling someone you're going to commit suicide that you are not as likely to go through with it since you reached out for someone to stop you. Keep us posted.

Dh came home around 2:00 this morning. He got to our friend's apt. and banged on the door, called his cell phone, etc., but still couldn't rouse him (all the lights were out). At that point dh decided that he must have taken pain meds (for health problems) and was too deeply asleep to hear dh (it's happened before). He finally got a hold of him this morning. I don't know if he's in better spirits today or what exactly is going on. :\

Thank you all for your prayers, I really appreciate it!

Kat, I found out that dh called our friend last night, the friend wasn't the one to call him. :(

He did try to call family and get in touch with other friends, but he wanted to feel out the situation further before calling the authorities. I didn't ask dh for details when they spoke today, but I'm thinking things were looking up or dh would have gone up there again and brought him back down here. It's just a hard call. :(

Wasn't he afraid at this point that his friend had succeeded in his threat to commit suicide? Him banging on the door, calling his cell, and not getting any kind of a response from him at this point would have made me kinda nervous.

This has happened in the past, that the friend has been so deeply asleep because of medications. Frankly... the lights would not have been out if he had loaded his gun and shot himself.
