this is really worrying me that my 2 yr old daughter is only babbling while her twin brother talks well in 3 word sentences. she seems to hear well, we even done a BERA test which showed no problem.she'll repeat one or two words, if we tell those words to her and babbles a lot. she doesn't point and seems less demanding.but she cries for some things that she wishes to possess. she has achieved all other milestones even though very late compared to her twin brother. she recognises a few things by turning her head towards them when we ask for it. eg,for 'where's light?' she turns towards light. she plays with her brother at times, even if he invites her all the time for playing. is the IQ less or is it simply speech delay. please give me some information.

I would contact your local school system to find out what agencies are available to help your pre-schooler.
I'll second Angie's advice. They might not be able to help yet (our ds had just turned 3 when we had him evaluated and was the youngest in the system), but they will be able to direct you to who can. Early Intervention can also do an evaluation. At this point in time I wouldn't worry about IQ. From what you've said, she does have some receptive language skills and that's a big plus. :) Expressive language skills come later in some kids, some kids just need a bit of help, etc. The school system or EI will be able to guide you in the right direction.
I'd call my pediatrician and ask for an order for a speech eval.
