Morning ya'll! How is everyone this am? We are really sluggin' it today. I woke up when ds got up at 9:45 and the dd woke up at 10 to watch 7th Heaven!!!! LOL Anyone watch that show? She and I just love it (it's the reruns from earlier years). We watch it together. Going to finish up laundry today.
Tomorrow is my mom's birthday, so my dad is having a surprise party for her at this little Italian restaraunt. I am also getting my hair highlighted tomorrow. We leave Thursday for our trip to New Orleans and Biloxi.
Have a great day!

Sounds like you have a fun week in the plans AnnW!

Brichard's twin flew in last night and they went to see Aerosmith. The kids got up early today and are playing hard! We are going to head up to the pool for a while. Tonight we are having dinner at my in-laws.

Have a great day all!

I just put some leftover fajita chicken in the microwave for ds's lunch. We have some paper plates from 4th of July, so I used one of those. Big mistake! The plates are kind of sparkly and apparantly have something metallic in them because the plate was flaming when I took it out! Good thing I only had it in there for 20 seconds or we might have had a big problem!

Sounds like ya'll have fun stuff planned for the week. Today is the day things get crazy around here. We've had a pretty mild summer, but I'm starting a summer class today (gunna have to miss the first class though - that's never happen in 6 years) and ds has swimming lessons and VBS and ds's birthday party.............. Oh well, at least we're not bored.

Dh woke up this morning and his tire was flat. He took my car to work and I aired up his tire and drove it to town to get it fixed. The tires weren't even a week old. There was a nail in it though. I went to his work and swapped vehicles, and then I hung around town until he got off for lunch. Then we went and got something to eat. He just went back to work, and I am checking in here before going to the jewlery store to pick up my dad's lighter. Dh and I bought it for his b-day, and I took it in yesterday to get his name engraved on it. I don't know what I will do for the rest of the day. I will probably do some laundry and go shopping with mom. We are still staying with them, but hopefully by the end of this month we will be in our own house. Anyway I am rambling on here, and I need to go start some of this stuff, so I'll check in later. :) Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!!

Well this day just keeps getting better and better! I just discovered I washed and dried my black Eddie Bauer 100% cotton tank top that has a matching cardigan:\ I've put them both back in the washer together and I'll lay them out to dry. Any one got any better ideas short of losing a few pounds or buying a new one lol?

Ds just drug Candyland down for me to play. Hopefully that's safe!

:yippee: Happy Tuesday! :yippee:

Dh is at basketball and dks are wound up today! :crazyroll We are having a moving/garage sale on Friday. I hope to get back out to the garage this afternoon to work on that some more...when dh is home to watch dks. They have discovered some of the toys I plan to sell and think we should be keeping them. They haven't played with them for months, so to them they are new found treasures! I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the three weeks ahead of us. My grandma just turned 80, so we are celebrating that Saturday in Iowa. We also have a family reunion in Iowa the following wknd, and the wknd after that we move. 8o If I survive this month I can survive anything! LOL!

Donna - Bummer about your tank. :grimace: Hope the rest of your day goes better and that Candyland didn't throw you any loops. :)

Ann - Have fun on your trip!!!

Leigh - Glad you got the tire fixed.

angie - How long is Brichard's twin in town? Lucky guys to see Aerosmith!!!

We had an overcast morning. Took ds to the lake for an hour, lunch, and then to the animal shelter. Now the sun is out and really heating up. I managed to get the plants and grass watered and the porches cleaned before the heat. Yesterday it was 106 downtown and 99 here at the house. Looks like today will be about the same. Temps were about 10 degrees cooler last week for camp. I don't know if I could have stood triple digit temps.

Finally got all the camp laundry done. That was some stinky business. Next year I may just unload suitcases at the laundry mat and get it all done at the same time.

Now my house is calling to be cleaned. I put on a pot of beans for supper and one of our neighbors left us some squash and tomatoes. That's what we'll be having. Dh won't be pleased, but I can't wait.

I think your days pretty much gone to pot if you have to play Candyland on top of everything else!!! LOL (I hate Candyland!)

yikes about the plate..
have you tried washing it and then stretching it while wet???

Sounds like everyone has some busy times!!!

It stormed early this morning and the power went off twice. Luckily it didn't wake the kids up. This past Sunday I woke around 3 AM to hear the wind blowing something fierce. Dh woke up too and I suggested we head to the basement, but he didn't think we needed to. When we woke up around 7:30 we had trees and branches down! One apricot tree was mostly down and same with a Jonathon apple tree (we ended up taking out the whole tree) and half of the pear tree in the back yard was down. We also had cherries all over the ground. There's a few left on the tree, but they're in the very top branches. The yard sure looks different with out those two trees. We still have another apricot, 2 apple trees, and a crab apple tree though.

Yesterday we butchered the last of the chickens! :happydnc:

Ds #2 had to take the fanny pack he sewed in for judging today. My sewing machine was making awful noises when we went to start the project. Dh thought sure that the gears were stripped. Since it was 12 years old he said we might as well just get a new one. He found one on sale, so ds had to sew while learning how the new machine worked. Dh finally decided to take the old machine apart to see what was wrong. It was only 2 screws that were loose!!! So now I have 2 machines that both work!!

Kids are fighting something awful today--must be the weather. Ds #1 tries everything he can to make dd #1 scream and in turn dd #1 screams at anything and everything concerning ds #1! What a vicious cycle they have going!! :{

Sometime this week or next I'll be getting together with the director from the preschool to get ready for next year. I'm getting excited and anxious to start making lesson plans!

Well, we have an insurance guy coming over tonite so I'd better finish up on here and get the house cleaned.

Have a good day all!!

My life is getting on the looney side. :) My neighbor/boss just called me and wnats to know if I want to run a clothing store?? I said -YUCK. Well this dying man owes her Mom a ton of money and wants to take over his store and liquidate it for him so her Mom would get her money back. Guess who she wants to head that? I have gotten the strangest experiences from my boss. LOL I've learned collections, insurance, marketing, printing/design and now I need to hone in on my accounting skills. I have to laugh because I have no idea on how to sell myself to a future employer because my skills are all over the board!!! LOL

So, did you agree to do it? :) It could be interesting and fun, especially if it's short term. Is the store in a mall? Those neighbors sure have kept you busy and think of the potential jobs down the road with all of the experience you've gained! :D

I am having my doubts that she will be able to get this man to agree to all this since he won't even talk to her! LOL She can be quite a pit bull when she wants something done. This is an old family store located in a building downtown. The clothes are not exactly current either. I have never been in there, so I don't know what I would be up against. It does sound interesting if its in the short term. In many ways Im grateful for all the varied experiences. No one in the real world would hand over all these high responsibility jobs and say good luck and I trust you.

Dh and I played CandyLand on our first date! it was so much fun. First time I remembered playing it. Though I probably did play it at some point in my childhood. It was kinda fun being silly and childlike again....

Hope your twin set will still fit Donna. That would be very frustrating. Would it work to try to shape it while it's wet? I do that a lot when I mess up my laundry too....
