Dh and I will be back at painting the house this weekend.
We're on the side of the house where the chimney is and I've got to figure out a way to cover it so it won't get sprayed white. I can probably hold a piece of cardboard while dh sprays the bottom half, but when he gets on the porch roof, I'm not goin' up there!
Any ideas at all?
TIA!
Would there be any way he could tape the cardboard up there? It's a pain to use tarps, but that might work better in the long run.

I'm not sure how he'd secure the tarps around the chimney.

Maybe use a lighter grade of plastic... not half as heavy as a tarp would be. You could probably use duct tape to hold it up.

Yah, but imagine trying to manuever around your chimney (on a ladder) while trying not fall off a roof! :) That's the issue.
He's going to have to nail 2x4s into the porch roof to hold the ladder, I'm sure he doesn't want to do that all the way around the dumb chimney. There's got to be another way.... (scratching head).

If we could do that, we wouldn't be out there doing the whole thing ourselves.

sorry, I would have offered a solution but didn't have one. lol I can only think that duct taping the plastic is the way to go. Is there a large company there that you could call? I bet they could offer you some good advice :)
