I have a few kids in our daycare whose parents always come late, not 5 minutes late, but 30 minutes or even more. Any ideas of how to deal with it?

Do you charge late fees? Most places do....some are $1 for every minute after closing. It seems to help. I just try to help them figure out a backup plan. If you have a waiting list, it wouldn't hurt to mention it. Sometimes parents take advantage because you allow it....or at least they get the impression that you do.
Most people are late very occasionally, and I understand that.
leave them on the curb and lock the door???? ;)
my kids nursery school gave you 5 minutes and then it was a buck a minute after that and if you didn't pay up, you weren't allowed to pay the next months payment or come to the school till you did.

Charge them with a nice stiff late fee... one that hurts their pocket book, then they'll think twice before doing it again. If you let them off without saying or charging anything... they'll continue to take you for granted and will continue do it over and over again. I know how hard it is to start doing something when you've never done it before.. (always that fear that you'll pi$$ them off and they'll quit you) but once you start doing it (and being consistent) you'll find they won't be too darn late anymore.
Good luck!!!
