About 10 months ago my dad had a kat-scan. It showed that he had a small nodual on his lung. His doctor told him that in 6 months they'd take another look at it. Even with a lot of proding and reminding from my mom and dad... the doctor did nothing. My dad's health has been going downhill since. His diabetis has been going crazy (over 500 when it should be l20) and has been having a terrible time trying to control it. AGAIN, his doctor doesn't seem concerned and did nothing. Ugh... On the 20th of June my mom finally got good and mad and TOTALLY lost it with the doctor and threatened to just take him into the hospital hoping that maybe THEY would do something to determine what was wrong and to help my dad feel better The doctor finally agreed to do another kat-scan. Well... once AGAIN they said that there was a small nodual on his lung and besides that I guess everything looked fine. A week or two later my dad woke up hardly able to breath... plus his blood pressure was extremely low. He was rushed into their local hospital (not their normal) and it was determined that he had bacterial phneumonia. They've been treating him for that but in the meantime they've also been concerned because even though the phneumonia is clearing up nicely... his breathing still isn't what it should be. Anyway... it was at this time that my dad finally decided to switch doctors to this new guy who was now taking care of him. IMHO his other doctor was a quack. :( This one was concerned and ordered yet ANOTHER kat-scan. Anyway, last night the doctor told them that they had found a "mass" on my dad's lung and they are going to be sending him in for a biopsy today. I believe in the power of prayer/healing and I would really appreciate it if you would PLEASE pray that all of his tests come back negative??? I'm SO scared for him and I can see that he and my mom are also so worried. I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks SO much!

They didn't get to do the biopsy today because the hospital that he was in didn't have the proper equipment in order to do it, so now this afternoon he got transferred to a different hospital and they are planning on doing some tests tomorrow. The doctor told them that on the kat-scan that was taken 3 weeks ago there was still only a small nodual... evidently just like the one that was taken 10 months ago. The one that they took two day's ago shows a golf ball sized mass... He said that it looks "suspicious" but he also added that he thought it was pretty strange that it had grown so big in such of a small amount of time. (in 3 weeks time) Anyway... he seemed to think that it "could" be some kind of an infection. I guess the fist thing that they're going to do tomorrow is to do some kind of a scan to find out if it is an infection. If it is... they will treat it with antibiotics. If it isn't an infection they'll have to go ahead and do a biopsy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's an infection.
He's SO scared and it's SO hard to try to keep a positive attitude with someone who is being so negative. I know I'd be scared too but... I guess you just never know how you're going to react until it happens to you. It's very hard having to watch him go through all of this. Anyway, I can't thank you guy's enough for all of your thoughts and prayers... and if you don't mind my asking... keep continue with them. :) When I find out anything, I'll be sure to let you all know. Let's hope it's GOOD news!!! :)

They finally got my dad down to take the tests at about 2:30... but before that he had three doctor's that came in to discuss "cancer" with him and my mom/sister. The specialist came right out and told him that by the way things looked to her... it WAS cancer. Of course my mom said that dad was devistated and pretty much broke down. She seems to be holding up pretty good. My sister (foster) is home from Washington for the week and so I'm sure having her there has been a great comfort to my mom. Unfortunately, they will be leaving to go back on Sunday. My sister said that she WILL be coming back real soon to help out so I was glad to hear that. Maybe some miracle will happen and everything will be okay... I'm not toally going to give up. Anyway, I guess that they are sending him home tonight and he's pretty happy at the thought of getting out. :) I can't thank you all enough for all of your thoughts and prayers/ I can't even begin to tell you how much all of your prayer's and support has meant to me during this time. You are all such wonderful people. :) Thanks!

Sending prayers your way. Hope everything turns out okay. Keep us updated.
Hi Diane...how's he doing today? I'm continuing to keep him and your family in prayer. And as said, miracles do happen! Just because one doctor thinks it looks that way still doesn't mean it is! Maybe the tests will prove her wrong. Just keep the faith and no matter what know God is there holding you all!

I will be praying for you and your family... that must be so hard.
Matthew 10:29, 31
Psalm 56:3,4
Psalm 46:10
John 14:26-27
Proverbs 3:5-6
Philipians 4:6-7
Isaiah 40:29,31
I hope these verses encourage you. It's probably frustrating for your family that the first doc brushed it off. I've had docs like that too. Glad you found a good one...

I haven't been on-line for a bit so just found your request today. So sorry to hear what your family is stuggling through right now. My prayers for your father and entire family are on the way. A similar thing happened with my Fil a few years back. They had him convinced that he had lung cancer but when they did the biopsy discovered that it was an ulcered blood vessel. He is doing much better now. best of luck to your father.
Diane, I am so sorry to hear that it is cancer. They did the biopsy already? I will keep you and your family in my thoughts!!!
