I like walking, swimming in the summer, yoga. I used to lift weights and am trying to convince myself it would be fun to do that again. Really it would be wonderful to be all toned like I was then. I was so busy with kiddos I didn't get to enjoy it!

I like to walk, but lack motivation :( My brother just came out of bypass heart surgery yesterday, he is 46. He was scheduled for a quadruple bypass and ended up having 5 done! My mother died of heart failure when she was 45. I'm 41. It worries me, I need to take better care of myself and would like to start walking. I thought about joining the health club in town, it's a 24 hour place with key card access. Still contemplating.

Curves 3 - 4 times a week, and the occasional walk inbetween curves visits.
I play with the kids in the back yard, they are older but still like to get out and see who can beat who!

I don't really schedule 'exercise' in but I do try to be more active when I can - parking farther away at the malls, using stairs instead of elevators, etc. I have an elliptical trainer but seem to lack the time and motivation to use it. I find that running around with the kids and the dog to be my best chance to be active!

parking farther away at the malls,
I had to laugh when I read this! My husband is very particular about our cars. We ALWAYS park in the back 40 of every parking lot. I should be a twig! :walkin:

There are some good resources out there. One I came across recently was on a lot of topics related to better living with hypnosis. You can sure give it a try. [Removed promotional link, this link was not approved by TIB]

LOL Sounds like my dh... he doesn't like anyone anywhere NEAR his car and he too parks way out in the boonies whenever we go somewhere. I don't usually mind this, except when it's really cold outside. Burrr...

i think swimming and yoga is best work out
You must do bodyweight exercises such push ups, squats, lunges, squat thrusts, pull ups, Burpees etc for whole body conditioning. You will find video demos of these exercises at You Tube. At first they will be tough, so go slow and gradually increase the number of sets and reps until you reach a time limit of 45 minutes. Then you can cool down and rest. I personally would advise you to avoid working on the machines since machine type of exercises restrict your body to one plane of movement and also they produce the least growth hormone release in the body as compared to freehand exercises.

I love my gym, I love that if I want to do weights I do, or Xtrainer or class or ....
So different to the hustle of Curves, I even find myself there at odd times of the day, I've also improved my weights and times on the machines .... Luuuurve it!

I am a walker. I love to walk. I tried running and ran every day for a month to give it a fair shot. I hated it. So now I walk. I got a dog and he makes sure I do it every day no matter what the weather. though I usually walk him at a brisk pace, I challenge myself to power walk all the hills. I also try to life free weights occasionally and chasing my daycare kids around outside when I play with them also helps.

I got a dog to motivate me. He needs to be walked every day. Unfortunately, that now means I get up at 5:30 a.m. so I can be out the door walking him at 6 a.m. so I am back before my daycare children start arriving. It is not fun walking out in the cold and the dark and on very cold, windy days I swear I am going to freeze to death. In the spring, summer and fall I try to walk him again in the evenings too and do a longer walk but in the winter when it is really cold we walk only for about 20 minutes which really isn't enough.

See I have a dog too, and she loves to walk with me. In fact I don't even have to keep her on a leash, she stays with me. I just can't seem to motivate myself. I guess it's because I don't HAVE to walk her to potty, I can just let her out LOL
I need motivation!!
