Good Morning!!!

I woke up at 4:45 and couldn't fall back asleep, so finally decided to give up and got up at 5:30. Dh and dks are all sound asleep...I am appreciating a quiet house/morning after a busy busy Friday. :) I hope to catch some  on the way to IA today. A friend borrowed us a tv/vcr, so hopefully dks will be entertained by that for a teensy bit instead of me. :sillyface :goofy:

Hope everyone has a great wknd!!! :yippee:

MM! As per usual, I have a zillion things to do around here. My family arrives on the 26 and naturally the contractors left little things to be finished.....IE TILE on the walls where the whirlpool is....ACK!!!!

I have to stencil still. I can't find my brushes, need to go to Michael's and buy them again. We have been without a car for 2 days now. My truck is in the shop and HH's is getting repainted from his accident a few weeks ago.

I still have yet to unpack the kitchen things. The school room is full of boxes and books. I have to refinish my computer desk. I sent the kitchen chairs to be repainted and have to recover them when they get here. Oh wait. I still haven't looked for fabric.......UGH!

As you can read, I am stressed to say the least. My Grandmother is going to white glove me while she's here and my children and dear, dear, HH think nothing of walking throught the house in their muddy shoes.....

My sister called yesterday and asked if while she was here we could just drop her off at a beach so she can get a tan.... NOT . When I told her I didn't think it was a good idea, she had an attitude....GREAT! She honestly doesn't see a problem.

I am going to hide out today from the world and try to get done what I can.

ßß!

I'll be getting the white glove test in August when dh gets home! LOL I might even go as far as steamcleaning the carpets. UGH!

Today we check out the store. I found out its a MENS store. Yuck! That could be harder to sell. We are doing a dot sale. Some things up to 75% off and even $1 bins for the really old stuff. I plan on getting dh a new wardrobe :)

Not much going on here today. Dh and I are staying at his parent's house for a week while they are out of town. They wanted us to be here for dh's sister in case something happened. It is nice though because sil will be at work most of the time so we will have the house to ourselves. Dh is going to use their grill tonight to grill us some steaks, and sil and I are going to the grocery store to pick up some things to go with them. I am also going to get a few other things for the week.

Do you hear that... that is the joyous sound of silence!

:biglaugh:

This is the first day in awhile we have had as a family with no prior commitments. We have went to the pool and are back at home playing and catching up on housework etc.

Ah... this is nice!

I wish you'd put some pictures of your house up on your website when you're finished. I sounds like all the work you've done is gorgeous.

How old is your sister? Are the beaches in PR dangerous because of crime, or are you worried she'll drown?

We are off to church tonigh. We have a Newcomers class this evening, so we decided to attend the Saturday night worship service instead of Sunday am since we'll be up there anyway.

Tomorrow we're headed up to my Mom's to clean up her computer. Seems someone (one of the teenage grandsons most likely) was looking at the nasty web sites on her computer and now there are some things she'd like taken off!8o She also has about $300 of 900 # charges on her long distance bill that I hope the quilty party takes responsibility for. I hope there aren't more charges that she just hasn't gotten yet.

Good Evening! It's hard to believe it's Saturday already...and the day's almost gone! I don't know where time goes any more.

Did some errands and shopping today - nothing exciting but OK. Now I'm nervously sitting her as oldest dd is out for her first driving lesson with the instructor. Will my fingernails survive? LOL It also explains how I am able to be on the computer right now....she's not here to be on it ;)

I plan to watch Big Brother 2 tonight...have to see the fallout from Sheryl leaving.

Have a great night all! :bounce:

To Amy/CO

Good luck with your white glove inspection. I remember those from my childhood. We all had to pitch in to clean. Best housekeeper I ever had was a lady who used to work for the military cleaning houses for white glove inspections.

MM! Donna, thanks for the support ! It seems like the remodel is never ending :-). I will never do this again though. The sad thing about all this lovely work is that we are going to start to look for another house when we are through here. We have outgrown this one and need more land for the animals. :-(. Our home is constructed with cement blocks and steele rebar, so making changes to walls ect. is time consuming and messy, but hurricane proof.

My sister is 26 and a real cutie. She doesn't speak spanish either. The beach here are safe for the most part. I wouldn't stay on the beach if we (the children and I) were alone. I was raised believing in the buddy system while swimming. I wouldn't stroll the beach at night though. It's simular to walking through Central Park at night as well, something not even a NY'er would do.

Most of our beaches don't have lifeguards. The beach in our town doesn't even have a pay phone. Our beach, called La Sardinera, is a laguna. This has been developed by nature. The area is enclosed by a natural rock formation and when the tide is out, has tidal pools as well as a large swimming area. When the tide returns, waterfalls are created by the waves. It's something to see and experience. We are fortunate to have this laguna. When HH was younger, during high tide, a baracuda became trapped in the laguna. The neighborhood kids tried for days to catch it using fishing poles. Finally, 2 girls caught the fish. Then it was safe to return to the water. lol HH always laughs when he tells the story because the girls caught the fish. They bothered the boys forever about it too. They saved the laguna. Girl Power !lol

LOL, It's just a Northern phrase (from my experience) to say someone borrowed me something rather than someone lent me something. I used to do it all the time. I guess I'm a real southerner now - can ya'll tell:) ?
