We went to see her on Saturday. They are so adorable. Little black fuzz balls. They are six weeks old and she also had a ten week old puppy there as well. These dogs grow so fast that the 10 week was 3 times the size as the 6 weeks. I couldn't believe it. Anyhow, we finally agreed on a name. We are going to name her Pandora and call her Panda for short. Just thought I would share. I am very excited, so are the kids and dh. I will post up a picture once I get one if I can figure it out.
cool, let me know how things are going with your new puppy, Max our new golden Retriever, is 2 months today, and he is starting to slowly treat the kids gentler....still chews our hands and feet when he can get to them.....house training and walking take up all my time...LOL...congradulations on your new addition...Pandas a great name....

She sounds adorable! Love the name. We have friends with two Bernese Mountain Dogs, and the male is Tux and the female is Panda. Big and furry just like yours will be!

What a cute name and such an exciting time!! :)
She sounds so sweet :) I love dogs and puppies are so hard to resist! I think it's nice you've been able to visit her before getting her...I wish I could have seen our pup while she was a little one - not that she's that big now but you know what I mean. Be sure to keep us posted!

Rae, we bring her home the weekend of March 3. Anytime on that weekend. But we are having ds's birthday party that weekend as well so it will probably be Sunday before we go pick her up.
Kathy, we almost chose a bernese mountain dog instead of the newfie. It was a tough decision because I wanted someone a little more 'watchdogish' than a newfie but I am not an active person in the winter or any cold weather and thought the berners may get a little more excited in the colder months from being inside where the newfie is lazy and couldn't care less as long as it gets a walk once a day, and they wouldn't mind how short it is. They are such a beautiful dog, and on the top of my wish list as soon as I can afford to move into a bigger house.
ROFL!! I LOVE that criteria...I have heard of wanting a dog good with kids, hunter, ect..but LAZY..that's the best!!!! LOL

AnnW,
When I stop and think about it, it's kind of pathetic that something like laziness needs to be a criteria. But it's no secret around here that I hate the cold. In the summer I am always on the go but I just don't understand why some people go out and stay outside when it's cold. On PURPOSE! LOL It boggles my mind!
You are preaching to the choir...never been a big fan of cold either! I like to visit snow, but wouldn't want to live in it!!! LOL
